So when is NEA going to start to make a complete Swiss Arms rifle?

My vote would be for another lower that takes ar15 magazines (so we can use the LAR 10 rounders) but utilizes the factory swiss furniture.

All four of my SAN rifles would wind up wearing one....;)

Cheers,

Brobee

I think the next Swiss product they should look at is a lower for the SAPR to take the KAC/DPMS pattern .308 mags and AR furnature. Providing the SAPR gets through anytime soon.

Since we're dreaming in technicolor... Can we get a NEA street legal version of this?

I'm no engineer but to my eye a Sig-540 upper isn't terribly complicated. If they can clone an AR I have no doubt they could build a swiss rifle; the question is whether it can be done profitably. I wonder if there may be licensing/ patent issues?

It's not that complicated a design but the devil is in the details. The level of precision of the Swiss arms and proprietary advanced coatings on parts etc. It's the extra level of deatil that makes Swiss Arms stand out. I'm sure they could make something quite close but it would still be a copy.

Pain in the ass to machine and no market when you can get good Norinco receivers ten for a buck or whatever they go for.

Definetly a pain in the ass to machine, but I think there would be a decent market if they made good quality M25 recievers, similar to the ones that LRB puts out. I'd buy one. Dare to dream!

....... but I think there would be a decent market if they made good quality M25 recievers.........

The 20 or so M14 guys in the Main Battle Rifle forum would not be considered a market:HR:......:p

1000 pcs = No Market
50,000pcs = Market

How about an AR lower that takes Swiss Arms mags??

Seriously. If you would actually believe me If I was............

Metal lower to make a UMP. Bet their would be a good market for that, I mean market as in Global. They Luv the HK across the pond!

That would be nice, not sure if they could go with Billet, or if they would need forgings, the M14 has a few more requirements than an AR15 because the receiver is handling the pressure, not the barrel extension like an AR15.

However there are already a bunch of M-14 parts being made in Canada, having the receivers and then barrels would allow a good quality Canadian made M-14.

Too bad it is all about the money and not innovation, thats what really boosts an industry...
