That’s why I never really clean my Shadows. Lol!

I’ve used wipeout in many a guns, some sat 48 hours when I got busy. I’ve never had this occur. My guess is wipeout knocked crud out of the pits doing its job and that wipeout wasn’t the culprit
My guess would be that someone along the line was using corrosive ammo , and not cleaning the pistol ; which is probably why a regular cleaning would not remove the lead build up . Then with the soak , the built up lead washed away revealing a pitted barrel caused by corrosive ammo .
Hey JD , I didn’t post to defend my sale, I know your not trying to lay blame.45c and everyone else: I'm not complaining that I got hosed or wanting to throw blame anywhere. I don't want anyone to feel bad... even if your gun might be secretly rusting away as we speak!!! I did not pay top dollar for this pistol. This is just a show and tell post.. get people thinking.
When I first got the gun I feild stripped and inspected it. There was nothing out of the ordinary. The barrel looked normal inside and out, and I was going to bring it to the range in a few days other than wiping down the slide and frame rails and oiling it I determined it was good to go and was quite pleased with my purchace.
I'm gonna say a 1911 in 45ACP by Norinco.
