Some vids from Sunday, June 3, 2012 at WRAS 3 Gun

Nice vids man!!! I feel so SLOW watching other guys do this... I guess I could pull the "I only started shooting in March (aside from hunting) and this was my second 3-gun or competition ever" card, but that's lame, hahaha! What's the second song in this vid??? I like it!

Thanks man. Keep playing, and you'll surprise yourself eventually. The song is "Warriors Code" by the Dropkick Murphy's

Where was the firing line sticks for the last three pistol targets on stage 2??? We had to shoot from way further back on the end pistol part on that stage...

Sticks??? We don't need no steenking sticks... I dont know man. We shot stage 2 first, and there were no sticks there.

I think my big problem is being consciously slow and deliberate to make sure I don't pull a bonehead move and get a DQ... Maybe I'll win that AR and have some 10 round mags too, :D

This is what I need to do on the pistol portions, especially stage 4. I was rushing, and that's where I lost almost every one of my points.

Edit: LAR mags are the felion's posterior.

Stage 4 was a unloaded shotgun start? Evil!

I cannot wait for the next one. My AR finally arrives either tomorrow or Monday!!!!

Since I'm shooting open, I should get a 45° red dot on it...

Awesome vids guys! Keep em coming!

Yep, practice practice practice... Fortunately I can practice mag changes and shooting with my CZ out in my back yard (the great forests in the mountains) so eventually my mag changes should be slicker than sh!t through a tin horn. I didn't fumble once with a mag change though except for not remembering I needed the dang mag to strip rounds into on Stage 1, LMAO! The speed will come and you bet your butts I'll be attending more 3-Guns. :D

The way I see my 5 rounders is that I get twice as much practice at mag changes as all you 10 rounder guys, LMAO! I'm humming and hawing over a CORE M4 right now... Or those AR-15's up on Wolverine's site. Just seems like a heck of a lot of money for me to spend just yet still being the new guy. I still have 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 range safe stuff anyway, lol... Maybe I'll be more enticed in a month or so when I get back from work. Going away to work in a foreign country for a month always makes me feel spendy when I get home, ;)

man that looks like fun. this is the exact kind of shooting I want to get into. Maybe more of the shotgun for reloads, thats where most time could be lost or gained

There's really no reason to upgrade right away, other than having a nice new toy. You shot great with your CZ as far as I can see.

Lol, thanks man. I think I lose the most time on the shotgun myself. Never had either a shotgun nor a pistol till 2 months ago so I'm still early in the learning curve. I like how using all three in one stage REALLY makes you think though.

Like I said, maybe I'll think more seriously about getting an AR of some sorts when I get back from work cause really... Who doesn't like having nice new toys? Lol, I'd probably still run the CZ for a while anyway... it's just so friggin' cool and really makes those steel swingers swing hard, hahaha

We all do.

A couple of us were commenting on that. You can really see the power difference between the two rounds. You were pounding those gongs.

Hahaha... Yeah. That's why I love that thing more than an AR. It has hunting power (out to 200 yrds with the right rifle) and in the longer CZ's it's hella accurate. I actually hunt with a CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 using SP handloads. I'm really glad I can find non-steel core stuff for it. There's a cost though... Re-acquisition takes me longer due to recoil and when in funny prone positions I feel it pretty good if I can't shoulder it properly... Plus, I may need to move my red dot to the front rail because I keep shooting that cantilevered rear rail mount loose, :( I do love that THWACK you get on the gongs though, LOL!

Practice the shot gun reloads - it's the win/lose factor in 3-gun!

Unless you're Dave C (not the one here on CGN) with a mag-fed pump shotgun!

Or you can start with 10+1 like i do :p

My group started the 4th stage with shotgun loaded.... I loaded 2 shot, 1 slug and then 3 shot. Its lucky it took 2 to get through the door but it always had before. Not sure if our RO misread the round rules but doing that totally saved my ass on the stage. Too bad I booted the round by killing hostages....

Seems like the way the stages were run vary a bit, lol! Maybe we'll need better instructions laid out for how the stages go so that we all start/do them the same way?

The best part of a shoot styled like these is that you get to problem solve. If everybody shoots it exactly the same way.....its pretty boreing. There is always the "spirit of the game" in effect but, your a big boy figure it out and improve your skills, problem solveing and judgement. You will loose some and you will win some. This game has been played in Spruce for a long time and it is always fun. Untill you have designed some stages... give the guys some credit. its a lot tougher than you think to design a perfect stage...Hiccups happen.
