SRV2 Siberian Reviews

The problem with Reddit, is that it is full of younger users, many of whom are brand new to the world of firearms and therefore contribute blinding statements of the obvious or have great difficulty in diagnosing and solving basaic firearm problems. Those same Reddit users are often immature and prone to excitable hyperbole. Sorry, but I'm 57 and I rather prefer "old and stuffy" adult-oriented forums, since they don't use MSM-speak or made-up words that I do not understand. Furthermore, forums such as CGN may appear "old and stuffy", but they are where you are going to find your older, more experienced firearms owners and users who KNOW how to diagnose stoppages and implement immediate solutions. Just saying. I love the unbridled energy and enthusiasm that I see on Reddit, but simply cannot stand the frequent immaturity and lack of experience that the users of those platforms exhibit. I reckon I'm just a grumpy old man who likes to associate with like-minded fossils of a bygone era. At least we tend to know what we're talking about.... if we can remember what it is we were just discussing!!

When I follow a link to Reddit I am usually underwhelmed by the knowledge displayed there. Plus the format of conversing reminds me of Facebook. Which is a schitty way to have an in depth conversation. Actually it reminds me of the original forums from 1997 where you had to bounce around and click different users posts just to talk about the same topic. Forums like CGN ,ay be old now but Reddit seems older, frankly. :)

They are getting destroyed on reddit, these seem worse than the WK180 launch when the bolts were eating the receivers

You guys need to check out reddit r/canadaguns

There have been many many posts about BCL Siberians failing, all with pictures and write ups. Those of you that don't use reddit should do so, CGN is kinda old and stuffy, most only use it for the EE

off the top of my head:

- Bolt carriers popping apart - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/...rrier_failure/
- Cocking handles getting stuck and multiple stoppages in just 120 rounds including the upper and lower becoming loose - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/...ian_range_day/
- Wondering gas blocks - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/...he_same_flaws/
- Very stiff folding stocks and poor trigger - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/...xing_and_tear/
- Cross threaded handguard screws - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/.../bcl_siberian/
- Large number of jams and issues in just 200 rounds - https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/...terrible_luck/

Of course the fact that you need to remove the blooming gas block to clean the gas system is insane, what were they thinking?

Oh and all the above posts were in JUST THE LAST 30 DAYS, who knows how many more there are to come

When I read stuff like this it makes me think that some people are under the assumption that every gun from every other manufacturer comes out perfectly or that no other manufacturer has ever had recalls or had to come up with a new part/modify the design slightly because of some problems.

***NEWSFLASH*** there are virtually NO gun manufacturers that have not had to deal with some problem with a product they brought to market. All the "big names" have made lemons and/or issued recalls.

That goes for almost all manufacturers, whether they are automobile makers or they make toasters.

Look at the Accuracy International L96, became very dangerous because of broken firing pins that a sub contractor did not make to spec. Once this problem was fixed it was a great rifle.

Look at the L85A1 which was one of the worst military rifles ever produce until H&K did the rework and the A2 version was pretty decent

it is a great point as they are in different classes - yet the high-end guns still have issues. and muppets expect a gun for half the price to be the same quality and reliability as HK or AI.

Anyone notice the helicoils in the hanguard? Had units from #18 to #138, both along with other units at the LGS had heicoils installed.

Maybe they switched hardware?

What amazes me is that people wants or wishes one of the last Canadian firearms manufacturer to fail badly! No constructive comments, only trowing them under the bus. I never bought a product from them and I hope they can overcome the QC issues and succeed. If you don’t like their products, just don’t buy it, move on!

I don't want them to fail at all, don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining tho.

It was not for a specific post, I was just reading the tread and was noticing a high negative feedback.

Well, it is warranted to be fair - considering their storied but consistently so, history.

My first personal experience with NEA was the AR / STANAG mag compatible Sig Classic Green lower.
worked more or less as it should have, but for the hold open device that needed fitting work.

Then it was helping a fellow nutter build an AR upper on one of their AR uppers - was not 'plug and play' as ARs should be. It needed an hour or two of fitting to work.

Next was the 102 - it was ok, but without the NR status when they came out, overpriced and was a unique unicorn in its own right.

Last experience is the Bison. Some bizarre design choices, multiples of broken components and accuracy that is a solid 'meh'.

I'd be happy for them if their stuff was better, and I keep dipping my foot in the water to see if it has - but I'm not about to hold my breath.

Specifics please. the firearm looks cool and there are several reviews on youtube (except of one who did not know how to put on a scope with his 140,000 followers - I had a pissing match argument with him, I saw in his video what happened).

Quality please.

When the bison came out I said that bolt handle will break off. Was looking at it again last week and in 10 minutes and 3 video reviews watched all 3 owners sent their rifle in for repair. reason bolt handle snapped off.

Bull shyt. What's really "amazing " is a guy who "never bought a product from them" commenting on something he knows SFA about.... then saying we are throwing them under the bus.
