The problem with Reddit, is that it is full of younger users, many of whom are brand new to the world of firearms and therefore contribute blinding statements of the obvious or have great difficulty in diagnosing and solving basaic firearm problems. Those same Reddit users are often immature and prone to excitable hyperbole. Sorry, but I'm 57 and I rather prefer "old and stuffy" adult-oriented forums, since they don't use MSM-speak or made-up words that I do not understand. Furthermore, forums such as CGN may appear "old and stuffy", but they are where you are going to find your older, more experienced firearms owners and users who KNOW how to diagnose stoppages and implement immediate solutions. Just saying. I love the unbridled energy and enthusiasm that I see on Reddit, but simply cannot stand the frequent immaturity and lack of experience that the users of those platforms exhibit. I reckon I'm just a grumpy old man who likes to associate with like-minded fossils of a bygone era. At least we tend to know what we're talking about.... if we can remember what it is we were just discussing!!
When I follow a link to Reddit I am usually underwhelmed by the knowledge displayed there. Plus the format of conversing reminds me of Facebook. Which is a schitty way to have an in depth conversation. Actually it reminds me of the original forums from 1997 where you had to bounce around and click different users posts just to talk about the same topic. Forums like CGN ,ay be old now but Reddit seems older, frankly.
