Stag 10 issues feeding

The short period I had my stag 10 It ran 100% without a muzzle device... soon as i added a brake.... cycled super weak, failed to lock open ect. removed device and it ran awesome, even in -30 weather.

That is interesting as it could affect it but I wouldn't think so with a gas gun as it is not recoil operated. But recoil could help but I dont want to rely on it as would like to reduce recoil - i actually put on a bigger break and recoil was nothing.

How tight should rings be as bolt head is very stiff moving back and forth - not smooth at all.

I re-centered the gas block and tightened and loctited it down. Cleaned it and lubed the bolt till it was dripping now will take to range tomorrow to see it I can get one round to feed.

Thanks for everyone's help. Took it out tonight after block adjusted and tightened down and it ran perfect and not o ly that but it shoot federal gm168's under an inch. So very happy now.

I've been watching a lot of videos and reading a lot about the Stag-10. I've seen that some people have an issue with them cycling due to the same idea as limp wristing a handgun. In one review video 2 guys shot the Stag-10 in 6.5cm a bunch but as soon as they gave the rifle to one guys son, he had non stop problems with it. Maybe something to keep an eye out for too if people are having problems.

Just tried my new Stag 10. Failure to feed and to lock back on last round. The gas block screws where loose and block was misaligned.
Put on a JP adjustable gas block, all good now.
Surprised Stag is not fixing this at factory.

Interesting... I've never chronoed the 7.62, but given the way it runs like a champ in my 1919, i assumed it was higher powered. I bought this gun as a plinker, so hoping this ammo will work.

No wear on lugs at all. Very smooth operation - it's all well lubed and moving well. I'm using the stock buffer/spring in a UBR stock.

Which stock did it come with?
The UBR uses a carbine length spring and buffer. I don't think I've seen a Stag with a rifle stock on it but thought I'd ask just in case.

If you remove the upper and remove the BCG, plug the chamber and blow into the muzzle, you should be able to hear the air coming out of the gas tube. loosen the gas block and move it around till the air flow is max then tighten the gas block down. Your barrels gas port or the port in the gas block may be drilled a little off center. Also try moving the gas block forward off the back of the barrel gas block saddle to see if that increases air flow (some gas blocks are drilled to have the handguard cap installed.

If that isn't your problem make sure your gas tube isn't cracked or too short.
Also check to make sure the gas key on the carrier is tight, I've seen a poorly staked gas key come loose which causes cycling issues.

Did it used to work then you changed something or is this a new rifle that you just changed the stock on and that's it?

Had the exact same issue.

I posted a full thread about it on ### the other forum.

Tried four different ammo types, and every round was a stoppage.

Sent it back to Arms East and they replaced the upper and it works great now, but they won’t answer my calls or emails to tell me what it was.

With S&B ammo it wont strip a new round, but firing pin does reset, bolt wont hold open last round neither.

Your rifle sounds undergassed, an adjustable gas block may help but not if it's because the barrel gas port is drilled too small. Adjustable gas blocks are usually more for reducing gas not increasing above factory.
Try moving the gas block, remove the upper and BCG then plug the chamber and blow into the muzzle listening for max air flow while moving the gas block around. Tighten it when it sounds like it's max flow.

Is it a factory built rifle or did you buy a receiver set and build it yourself?

Magpul. Cycles fine with hornaday ammo. Adj gas block ordered

I've found that Hornady ammo is a little hotter than others. My 6.5CM hates Superformance though, it's way too hot, unreliable and doesn't group at all (Proof Research barrel)

I'm skeptical an adjustable gas block is going to solve your problems but I hope it does.

If it's a factory built rifle I'd inquire about warranty repairs rather than messing around trying to change parts to get it working.

factory build Ill check to see if its an alignment issue. Thx

If it's not an alignment issue send it back, no sense fighting with a rifle from day one. Get a fresh one that works properly and start from there. Stag makes a good product, every company has the odd blemish or defect get through to the customer. They have a great warranty, don't be afraid to use it.
Your new gas block will work on the new rifle the way it was actually intended to, which is to reduce the gas to the system so you can tune it to the ammo you're using for the smoothest shooting rifle possible. Reducing the gas till it functions correctly without being overgassed is also easier on the operating system which will make your rifle last longer.

My guess based on your posts so far is that if it's not a gas block alignment issue your barrel gas port was drilled too small and the adjustable gas block is not going to remedy the problem.

Good luck.
