I have an LMT MWS with the 20" 7.62x51mm SS R5 Match barrel, among others (6.5 CM, 13.5" 7.62x51mm CQB, etc). The system of securing the barrel into the Upper Receiver is completely different with the LMT than with a standard DPMS/AR10 style system. The LMT uses 2x torqued screws to secure the Barrel with clam-shell style clamping rather than a torqued Barrel Nut. I am not convinced that an LMT Barrel can be modified to work in a DPMS Upper Receiver, but YMMV. Let us know what LMYt has to say....

Maj. Bartok5 FTW. I was thinking something similar, but don't own the item to look. Thank-you!

Questions on pricing.... we should have the 308 pricing finalized tomorrow. It will be going out to dealers then and also posted here.

I hope it will be reasonable, no additional DMR tax due to the high demand like other importers would impose. I’ve got my CC standing by.

This is Arms East, not M+M Industries or some greedy Canadian Distributor who shall remain nameless out of common courtesy. I have had many dealings with AE and in all cases the pricing was competitive with US retail after the exchange, US shipping and Import Brokerage were taken into account. AE has never gouged a "NR Tax" despite exclusive Canadian distributorship of certain items such as Geissele and Stag Arms. You can spend with confidence at AE, secure in the knowledge that you are paying a fair market rate for whatever it is you purchase there.

I would like a stainless option in an 18.5” , ballistic advantage which is a sister company to Stag I believe, makes a 18” tactical government profile that comes in at 39oz. .75 gas block and looks to be pretty much .75 straight through from the chamber, would be nice in 18.5 or 20”. Could also go a bit heavier and flute it, they make a 18” that way as well, and the weight only goes up to 46oz.

Will run that up the flagpole as well. Thank-you.

I would be interested in this as well, BA has a few options including fluting to keep weigh down

Lmts 20 inch 5r is pretty much that. Big money though. And not sure it would work with this receiver. I'm asking around and sent lmt a message.

I have one. There is no way it would work. The MWS has a quick change mounting system.

Lothar Walther barrels were available in the above specs just not 5R. I used one for my AR10 SASS but haven’t found one since. Plus it’s AR10 and not DPMS style. Awesome shooters though.

For those of us who jumped on the upper/lower receiver packages, I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up stocking to help us turn our purchases into complete rifles. I myself am planning to build a reasonably lightweight .308 bush gun, parts availability permitting.

First off, Stag Arms and Arms East would like to thank everyone for all the positive feedback and interest in the new STAG-10 CDN! It has been a long year bringing this project to completion, and we are all very excited to see the response so far. We look forward to having 6.5mm Creedmoor AND .308 Rifles on dealer shelves and in CDN shooters hands coast-to-coast-to-coast as quickly as possible.

As you may know, the current US Stag-10 308 line-up includes 16" and 18" versions. Stag Arms is now finalizing the profile and specs for the CDN Exclusive, Non-restricted model. We are looking at a barrel containing Stag's famous accuracy which will be both easy to carry and hunt with, but also accurate over longer strings of fire for competitive shooters.

We are thinking of using a very similar profile to the current STAG-10L. This profile starts 1.2" at the chamber and tapers progressively to .75 at the gas block, then .75" forward to the threads. This is not a heavy barrel, which would be .936 at the gas block, it also isn't a deeply scalloped under the hand guards "pencil" barrel. Stag's barrel guru's are going to offer up a suggestion tomorrow that will be very similar to the current 18", while saving a further "smidge" of weight.

Currently, the STAG-10L weighs in at 8.6lbs in a configuration similar to shown above with the 16.5" handguard. At 18.6", we should still be under the 9lb mark. The barrel would be milspec chrome lined and phosphated, 1/10" twist, 4150CMV.

Sample pic of an 18" barrel below, taper to .75" gas block.

We invite your feedback.

absolutely in for an 18.5ish version of this rifle and I like the road you are going down with the barrel. Mine will be a hunting rifle first.

You are not offering the shorter Diamond head handguard? If the barrel profile is lightweight as opposed to the medium/heavy found on most of the other versions, it should negate any weight gain from the additional 2.75" length.

I don't want a boat anchor AR10. Ideally someone needs to make a NR version of the POF Revolution as lightweight is where it's at for any real world application IMO

The difference between a "boat anchor" and a lightweight rifle is .5-.6 lbs? The configuration we mention above is in no way a "boat anchor".
