StG 44

Johnone,

If you are bringing in STG's of any stripe I think those will sell like hot cakes as long as their are readily available. Much more desireable than a CZ if you can swing it. Please keep us updated.

A rifle and a crate of ammo would be what I want, and I know at least 3 others that would be down with it too.

No-one seems to have mentioned that the Czechoslovakians used the Stgw 44 for several years after WW2. S&B made 7.92 Kurz. Most of the ammo I used to see in this calibre was Czech.

Ammo's always a big deal. If it costs $1 a round to fire, I would imagine the importer would have a hard time moving any significant quantity. Sure, you'll get the guys with lots of money who just want a gun solely based on cool factor, but there's no way the stg44 would sell more units than the vz58S Marstar brought in also. Ammo's getting to be a big deal these days...

These are not inexpensive rifles. They aren't in the same category as SKS, 58, 858 rifles, etc. Someone buying one of these rifles isn't looking for a cheap to shoot plinker. I don't think that the absence of cheap ammunition is going to affect the sales at all.

8mm Kurz is available in the UK. Not sure what brand though.

Prvi Partizan currently makes new, non-corrosive, brass-cased 7.92 Kurz. (This is a Serbian company). Not sure if there is a Canadian importer. There is a UK importer but obviously he doesn't import that ammo as there is zero demand for it.

Y'know, I think my older relatives would flip their lids if I had an STG44... seeing as they grew up on that side of the fence at that time. In fact, I think my Great Uncle Bob might have even carried one.
