StG 44

Defenetly interested in a semi STG. I doubt more then a dozen would really sell, but I would hope to join the ranks of fellow owners.

I well I agree with your numbers of the amount that would sell in Canada but I still think that they would be on the high side. I figured 10 at the top end. You could have 500 people say they would buy one but when it comes to putting money down, Canada is just not the place to make these kinds of sales. People will find all sorts of excuses not to buy one. I do sales on the side for fun and know that only 1 percent of people who claim that they would buy something actually will if it is not a required item(hard knock and too much inventory lessons). Also the common "if it used ak ammo" will be the biggest excuse for not buying one. But converting to 7.62x39 for this would be as easy as making it shoot .50 BMG. Most people just don't know very much about design and cost.

As a gun collector first and shooter 2nd I dont give two ####s about X39. I want something as close to the origional as legally possible.

I understand but I hear that statement all the time. People just don't know how much it would take to modify everything to make the other calibre work.

Well I'm sorry, I was trying to Be a nice Guy and Get some StG 44's since I like them. I'm sure it probably would be hard to re-design, and since metal fabrication plants are dying in Canada I suppose they wouldn't want to make nice made in Canada rifles.

Excuse me for dreaming.

Can I get this Thread locked?

I'm going downstairs right now and giving my Mp44 a big hug .as well as all my other "CA"s that are rotting in my safes ...yeah I've got fed up and sold a few but I'm hanging on to some to see what happens .I have a couple rounds I want to put downrange .

Anyone ever bought and imported a gun from Germany? I'm sure it can be done. MIght be easier to do it via Switzerland, I know there all you need is a $70 export permit that the seller can get you.

Here is the list of authorized sellers of the MP-44/BD-44, Sten/BD-3008 and the MP-38/BD-38

Anyone speak german and want to ask if they sell to Canadians?

Why cannot Questar import them for those who want to buy them? They are only the same as the CZ58 in that they are new semi-automatic only recievers. Where-in lies the difficulty? Furthermore these are not the fore-runner of the AK. The two systems are completely different. There would be no problem importing these or bringing one back from D.
