Still waiting on a pistol.....

I was transfering to a sibling. I don't recall the date, but Oct 22nd sticks in my head for some reason, so let's use that date. As I recall, no one knew when this Oct. 22 cut off date would occur. By happenstance, I initiated the transfer on the 21st (my gun). Next day, the freeze came into effect and initially "they" stated anything not transferred as of 12.01AM on the 22nd, wouldn't be, and there was an uproar. "They" then stated that any transfers that were initiated before 12.01AM of the 22nd, would carry through! GOLD! I thought. Nah, my sibling called to complete, they said no. I called to inquire, they said no. I insisted that I had met their criteria, they wanted proof, so I provided it...then they said no.

My sibling is without the pistol, and it's still in my name and my lock up. Sorry to say, but despite whatever some guys are telling you, I'm telling you they are not transferring any pistols that weren't transferred before the cut off date. Typical bureaucratic incompetence is what it is, and PP will reverse it, as he despises nonsense. We'll have to wait. Until then, your wife, and my sibling will have to borrow.
That's maddening. I urged people to hurry up and get something for ages. I knew eventually it'd come, before there was any formal announcement. Initially I thought there would likely be a grandfathering, and possibly based on action, and/or cartridge or caliber. Recommended getting a 9mm semi, to several people. Just get something you like while you can. Well, my manner of speaking must be similarly confusing as my typing because a lot of people missed out.

I think what happened with you, is the second part of the initial transfer didn't happen until after the deadline?

Like I said before I was approved a couple months after on one gun.

Where's the gun then? Nevermind your nonsense, look at the facts. The OP doesn't have the gun (transfer denied), and the same thing happened to me. No transfer.
the original poster's problem has nothing to do with what bullsh1t you're trying to say,get your info correct before saying WRONG information, the FALSE information you posted has NOTHING to do with this person's issue, all transfers up to the minute of the ban,ALL got completed if all information was above boeard,if the person still doesn't have his pistol, there's something else wrong,it's that simple, bottom line is,if you got a reference number before the cut off,you were good,if you didn't get a reference number before the cut off,you were on your own, some got them completed so didn't because they couldn't get through on the phone, and that sucked for them for sure,

OP is very confusing in his communication but does not realize it because he knows what he means. You said you got a letter...we are discussing one pistol not transferring..stick to that and perhaps we will understand.

So did BOTH parties do their part with the transfer, or did your sibling still need to call in and complete their half when the freeze came into effect?

Nope. As soon as the ban came into effect anything not already transferred, won't be transferred. I argued ad nauseum with them regarding a similar situation. The CFO even asked me for evidence I'd started the transfer prior to the cut off. I provided it, and then they told me to pound sand.
Your wife will never see that gun.
I’m SORRY to agree with you ! but I believe you are CORRECT and TL will NEVER see that RGun . JMO RJ

That can't be a good sign. It definitely shouldn't take this long for you to get some type of response. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I still suggest you send a fax. For some reason, I find that faxes get more of an immediate response. Just a single page cover letter with your reference number and a brief inquiry as to why the transfer has not been processed yet. Make sure you provide a contact phone number.

Someone looking into it now.

If you have a reference number and your wife phoned in with her info, before the dead line, then I wonder where the gun is?
I guess with seller, has he got any paper back? or a email from the CFO?
You say YOU bought her a gun, But the transfer would have been done in Her name and she has a range membership?
You never said when I asked before.
I presume you never got a new cert. for it ? Sounds like the company you used dropped the ball. ( I am not surprised)

The longest I took on the phone was 3 or 4 calls a day for 2 days to get in to transfer. Early in the morning is the bust time and at noon.
I had way more problems with the on line portal

I was looking back through everything, and going through it with the Wife. I had thought we didn't use the company, but we did. The paperwork was all filled out, on our end, and I believe we overnighted it over to the seller who got it out right away. Faxed and mailed. Didn't have to phone in doing it that way. It was a bit, and then we received a reference number for the transfer from the seller. Which was a bit weird, that we both didn't get sent it, but no big deal.

Had received notice of completion of transfer for a couple other pistols I had bought. At least one for my Wife was bought later. So she phoned to see if there was something holding it up, and the reply was that they had everything snd it was just going through the process.

Of course my Wife has her RPAL, and has had it for some time. We were currently members of a range and had a family pass. It was all done in her name. She has a few restricted and I had no issue buying her a couple more around that time.

The last one I think I got in my name took quite awhile. I've had them fairly quick from a store, but I don't think I've ever got one super quick with a private sale.

My last was sold july 22, finished Jan or Feb 23
But I sold some earlier in the yr that took a few days, but in Sask. so not a long wait here.
A couple where 12-6, so those can take longer , 3 weeks or so.
She has to talk to your local provincial CFO . Al transfers should have been done last year, if all the info was correct.
If you can't get in on the phone , send a registered letter with all the info included and demand a letter back.
A lot of times when you think you are talking to a CFO , you are just talking to a phone agent, Thou I never had any problems with them.
