Stolen pistol 5 years ago recovered (now with test fire video edit on first post )

Wow.. great news and congrats to you. It seems to be in pretty good condition. Hope the scuff marks are not too deep and can be easily restored. How are the condition of the bore and other internal parts??

I certainly want to shake the mans hand and thank him for doing a great job .
It should be a Kodak moment .
when a police officer hands over a 45 auto to a civilian .
Shows a lot of trust on the officer part in my opinion and speaks heaps about the department .
especially with all the lowlifes they deal with .

You are a licensed owner, the police don't have to trust anything aside from the CFC background check. They return lots of stolen property if they know the owner, this isn't any different.

What type of safe was it? and how did they break into it?

Hope they nail them with breaking into a building to steal a firearm. It carry's a 25 year sentence.

Has anyone EVER been charged with that, let alone convicted?

Why is this more exciting than the new csr?

Because this might actually be true?

:pirate:

Laugh2 Well played!

Awesome! Hopefully shes in good shape, Can't wait for the pics!

+1.

EDIT - One phone call and OP has posted pics in the meantime... Looks pretty good, I hope it still shoots as good as new.

didn't say were, but that it was used a few armed robberys and that no innocent people were hurt .. but wouldn't elabourate about the welfare of the perps

any idea if the PD did a function test on it to see if it is still serviceable?

My understanding based on my experience is that they supposedly test fire the gun with live ammo over a chronograph to prove that it meets the legal definition of a firearm to support whatever charges they lay. This from my lawyer (another CGN), and half-assedly confirmed by the RCMP members I spoke to in relation to my recovered guns.

When I got the one of my two back, its condition was indistinguishable from when it was stollen, except for the fingerprint powder residue all over it.

What ! No trigger lock ? LOL

The police are exempt from the firearm act while preforming there dutys.... Meaning here's your machine gun sir is 100% legal for them to do... They're just returning stolen property. They don't need anything to do it for any kind of firearm or any class of firearm.
