Is this a real thing or more BS , "it's coming in 12 weeks" garbage like the under barrel 12 Guage?
After reading that thread yesterday I started to think that may happen with this rifle, but these are already made and being sold in the USA. So as long as Canada lets them in there is no reason they won't show up.

I’m also curious about an update and ready to order, I have a few boxes of 5.7 on the shelf as well as an optic ready to be mounted.

With the quick detachable barrel, caliber changes or options are facilitated...
But - What about the bolt configuration? 5.7 has an odd head diameter, pretty much unique. How is the bolt constructed? Anyone seen a schematic?

Well happy new year to all.
We start off 2025 with some pretty terrible news.
Here is an email form the CFR Firearms Technical Division:

In regard to the STOWAWAY I will like to advise you that the firearm will be "Restricted".
This is base on that you have a pistol variant of it and it is said that a handgun always be a handgun.
You can not take a Remington XP100 handgun and change the legal classification in Canada by making it a varmint, non-restricted rifle, as a example.

Sure hope the rifle and pistol versions use different receivers...
A different rifle receiver would address the issue. Would the US manufacturer would be prepared to go to this length for the limited Canadian market?
This is why some revolving carbines are non-restricted while others were classified as restricted. Different receivers for N-R.

At this point they are "doing the work" and have become allies of the people kind calling for common sense and a complete repeal of ideologically driven nonsense policy, regulations and laws.

I understand that reply from the CFP means they consider it a "Handgun".

If a handgun, always a handgun.
Would need to be different receiver for a "Rifle" version meaning a completely different firearm.

Not fun news, but yup... adds to the pile of pressure for change in the laws.
