I have had two Tikka T3 wood stocks crack one laminate in .300wsm and one deluxe in .338 win, both behind the safety. I personally would not recommend one in wood only synthetic. It is not about abusing your rifle that the plastic parts are an issue, its the spending 900 bucks and getting sub par materials in a rifle. I have owned many rifles in Tikka when I started hunting but not one now. The more rifles I owned and shot over the years the more Tikkas "quality" started to show. Get over what you hear about remingtons and Savages being junk, its just not true. Look at a 700CDL Deluxe or a Savage 114 american classic stainless and try and find the plastic. I own both these and CZ 550s, Browning a-bolts, Ruger mkIIs. For the same money or less these do a better job in my opinion. Sako on the other hand did everything right......for a price.
