The magwell was the trickiest part so far. The stick mags fit in a slightly curved recess in the mag well which has to be exactly the right depth, make this slightly too deep and the bolt will catch the back of the mag. I almost screwed up with this. I decided that it was almost deep enough and I checked a mag depth with the bolt in place only to find that if I had gone any deeper the bolt would catch the mag. ( lucky this time, but I will be double checking everything way in advance with everything else.) The bolt strips dummy rounds as it should. I really needed five hands to check this, it's difficult holding everything together in the right place while pushing the bolt down the tube with a finger.
Stick mag in the well..
The drum mags are a different thing altogether, these rest on the rims of the magwell and are held in place by the fillers back and front. Mine is slightly high at the moment but it seems work well at this hight. I will leave it until the gun is finished before making any adjustments. If I have to drop it down a bit later it will not be hard to do as the rims are accessible when the gun is in one piece.
