The trial is still ongoing. The Crown has been dragging their feet on disclosure trying to burn up Maurice's defense fund. Next court appearance in Okotoks is 22 June...

Did you review the offer? Do you have the legal expertise to understand the long term ramifications of pleading guilty and the career death knell a criminal record is? You seem to have a very cavalier attitude about life and liberty of your fellow firearms owner.

As I understand it, the plan for the Maurice case is 'trial by jury' as a conviction would be highly unlikely...

I just hope the advocates for the Ed Maurice fund don't mind us using this same thread to ask for help for Pete Khill. We are really all on our own here. These fund raiser campaigns for folks who are proactive about their own security are now the only effective property crime and threat to personal safety counter measure. The government sides with the criminals.

When I had my own attempted armed break-in, the police did nothing. They didn't attend. They didn't investigate. As property owners, we now have to look after ourselves and each other...

I'm not on Facebook. Maybe someone here on Facebook could post a comment and link to the Maurice fund raiser in the comments section on the Pete Khill GoFundMe page. Let them know that the Maurice family are in the same fight as Pete Khill. It might help raise more contributions for Eddie's defense...

Just a reminder, Eddie is back in court tomorrow (Friday 22 June). I guess we'll have to see what B.S. excuse the Crown will have this time for not providing full disclosure and further delaying the trial... :(

would like to attend and ask the court why Eddie cannot be paid by the crown for the delays since the delays are on purpose to not only USE UP VBALUABLE FUNDS FOR HIS DEFENSE BUT TO DISCOURAGE OTHER RURAL FOLKS FROM DEFENDING THEMSELVES SINCE YOU MAY GO BROKE IN COURT BEFORE YOU EVEN GET DISCLOSURE AND CERTAINLY BEFORE TRIAL if you hire a good law firm

cancer operation yesterday prevents me from going however, and I do have courtroom experience so the judge may hear my point (as it really is not meant to be an argument)
