Suppressors are illegal in Canada

You misquote Ian and me. You completely miss that the ammo need not be subsonic in the SD. Ya language is important.
Did Ian alter the sound effects to make his video?? Is he dishonest?

On a personal basis I want to hear the trespassing pricks if they take a chance on hunting my place illegally. Lazy sneaky poacher pricks. Too lazy to use bows. Usually.
It doesn’t make the gunshot silent. You still hear a gunshot.

I was shooting a lightweight 300 Norma Mag last weekend and twice the thing kicked me so hard it dislodged my ear pro and I got a ringing ear out of it as a result. Gee, sure would be nice to be able to protect my hearing with a sound suppressor. Thanks, sh!tty CDN govt, for forcing me to risk my hearing.

Absolutely correct; important decisions, this being an example, are constantly made by our political leaders with flawed, minimal or blatantly false information. I used to think thy don't understand, now I'm leaning to the "They Just Don't Care" side. They seem to conveniently ignore making fact based decisions if it interferes with their narrative which seem to be all about consolidating more wealth and power. The sad part is we, the silent majority, are largely permitting this with our silence.

It cost less than the time it took to ready my reply to send a 2 line e-mail to your MP, or all MP's, and let them know that you are watching their activities and what you want them to do for you. Remember our elected officials are supposed to work for us, we pay their salaries and benefits. Let's get more value for our money.

Cheers; happy typing.
Do you honestly think writing a letter to anyone in our government is going to do a damn thing? We've been writing letters for 30 years when all of this #### started and look where that got us.
Gimme a break man.
They don't give a #### if we stand in their face and scream at them let alone write a letter.

Their goal is complete and total civilian disarmament. Whatever makes shooting less comfortable for you is a win for them.

I wonder if the military has adopted better hearing protection, did 4 years infantry and airborne, rifleman, automatic rifleman, machine gunner 45 years ago and we had tiny earplugs we could use on the range only.

Did anyone see this?

Pics of our MPs out shooting suppressed rifles .... that we plebe's are not allowed to own. I'd be interested to know who supplied those suppressed rifles?

By looking at those firearms, I would say that Stoeger Canada & their MIL/LE Division were involved in some way. JM02

it is an open secret that law enforcement shoots whatever guns mostly whenever they want. they steal your gun and shoot silenced ar15s at their range
feds wont do anything cause who really cares

Prob military or LE - hearing damage is an OH&S issue for professionals.

Unfortunately recreational users do not fall under the purview.

Another shining example of the rules for 'we' and the rules for 'thee'.
if you shoot more ammo than the police you are also a professional by that logic.. but maybe a professional criminal/terrorist

This was likely at an event known as "Rampart Day", held at the Stittsville Shooting Ranges and took place May 27th, ahead of the CANSEC happening on the 28th and 29th.

Those were CADEX rifles on the 300m line. From memory, she's shooting the .308, while the one at Bench #3 was a 6.5 Creedmoor.

Multiple Defense industry representatives come in to showcase some of their wares to the CAF and Law Enforcement. This event is not open to the public. There were multiple ARs with suppressors, mainly showcasing the optics if memory serves well. They were shooting run of the mill ball ammo or frangible ammo if shooting steel at closer range. With a lot of firearms being tested at once and discussions still being necessary further back, I'm sure the cans were appreciated by all.
