Well, quite the attack led on by Coyote Ugly; a member who posts negative/degrading comments on a regular basis.
As per the "said" rifles. They came out of a sealed crate of SVT 40's. Both were found in the second row. No premium pricing was paid for the crate. The stampings are also blued - not in the white (fresh) and the blueing matches the finish on the rest of the re-furb'd rifle.
If you read the K98 forum link, all people say is that some of these rifles turned up 35 years ago. They could be legit or they could have been faked in Europe 35 years ago? Some people also comment on re-finishing - well last time I checked these are arsenal re-finished rifles?
There is also some concern about the size of the Reichs eagle, seeing that there were at least three different sizes of Reichs eagles/firing proofs used by the Wehrmacht, again no grave concern. The Reichs eagles on these rifles also have the proper amount of feathers found on original Reichs eagles, versus fake stamps sold by dealer in Europe that added on another feather, so collectors could spot fakes. Fake stamps are also made for marking wood and leather, not metal.
As the seller all I know is that I did not fake them, they were found as is. Perhaps they are left overs of faked rifles from 35 years ago, but that seems far fetched. Maybe they are legit.
From the information I had, I sold them as what I still believe them to be. I could be wrong and no one is perfect.
I have been on this and other forums too long to deal is fake gear/rifles and whenever I have sold repro kit I have always advertised it as such. If I really wanted to fake rifles, why would I use a rifle with a stock repair etc? Versus faking pristine examples? It just doesn't make sense.
Until you have some rock hard evidence that these are fake or that I am knowingly selling fake rifles, you should beware of defamation of character.
As per "st1264" I have never contacted you and I am sorry if you felt bad that I sold my first four rifles out of the crate within $10.00 of cost and you have been having problems selling your own rifles.
After years of collecting, why risk my name over $200-400 between two rifles? The collector community is way to small to burn people knowingly. If you check out those other links Coyote Ugly posted on fake markings, I commented on those blatant/over zelous fakes.
Pretty sure this is the guy who PM'd me and wanted to swap my SVT for one of his in a case that he just bought. I said NO.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but do people collect things because there is a Nazi stamp on them? My grandfather fought against them, I wouldn't want it in my house.

Seeing that all defamatory comments are "hearsay" or "layman" opinions and not based on any facts or re-search, I would appreciate it if a Moderator would pull this thread.
The only 'evidence' comes from the opinions of some Americans who would be lucky if they had handled an SVT's in their lifetime and are not even members of our forum.
I'm not expert on WW2 German markings but didn't Germany take in, inspect (and mark), and reissued equipment during the early stages of the war ? I can imagine this was dropped later on but I can see a large pile of Mosin 91.30s and SVT38s/40s being taken in during 1941's push into Russia, inspected and potentially marked by the inspector with a WaA, and re-issued to the troops on the battle line.
Just my two cents worth.
It's the size of the bird that is the problem.
I wasn't selling any rifles. Ok dude. I could care less what you are selling or what your profit margins are. Have a nice day, sir. I wouldn't have anything allowed in my house with a Nazi marking on it.

Ok, I am so not an expert but it does look like a depot mark without the letters. Google kru1
