Ya know - you could have waited 'til July or August and that would have been a lot more fun.
PS is it me or does anyone else think it's somewhat ironic that you live on an island, but used a river as your 'beach'? - Just Sayin'
Except that shooting on any "ocean beach" that I know of, would be illegal, as there all inside no shooting areas! I was shooting inside lands designated for hunting. I do not know of a Ocean Beach that is withing hunting boundaries.
Great video, awesome to watch. Good addition to youtube I think. I've yet to seen a "over the beach" with a swiss arms.
EXACTLY, that is why it had to be done!!!
I'll take 10 rnds over 5 any day of the week. Never had any problems with LARs mags![]()
LAR-15 magazine users often encounter issues when running drills under stress. I've seen it happen more than a few times. Most guys who know their equipment do not run their LAR mags on tactically oriented courses, and those who do, find themselves quickly switching to what available PMags they have with them, sometimes even having to borrow magazines from others to avoid having repeated issues with the LAR-15 magazines. This of course does not even begin to mention the inherent flaws in STANAG magazines. The proprietary magazines the Swiss rifles use are considerably more robust and reliable.
This is why I don't have a mag well adapter...
River water is probably a tad nicer to the rifle than salt water as far as corrosion goes.
Very cool vid Steve
I actually would have loved to do it in the Ocean, showing the rifle can put up with the Salt would add yet another aspect to the test. But, as stated above, no legal to shoot Ocean beach exists that I know of. For this I just went on a Canoe trip up a river and did a bit of shooting.
