I've had my Swiss Arms Sniper out a couple of times now, and have been quite impressed. As you can see, the barrel is much longer and heavier than the barrel on the standard rifles. I installed a B&T quad rail and Harris Bipod, as I find the factory bipods quite rickety.

The trigger is extremely light. It is a two-stage trigger pull, and you can see the plunger is located on the trigger itself, as opposed to at the back of the trigger guard as with the standard rifle. Once the plunger contacts the plate, only minimal pressure is required to fire the gun. In fact, the trigger is so light that about half my shots so far were let off when I wasn't actually ready to do so. it will certainly take some practice to get used to it. In any case, when all goes as planned, I shot some very tight 5 round groups. Rich LPS put some rounds through it too, and he was getting pretty good accuracy too (and far more consistently than I was).

The stock is extremely adjustable. The rest can tilt up or down. The butt plate can be extended or retracted to change the length of pull. The rake of the pistol grip also can be changed (there are about 8 angles to choose from), and the hand rest can be moved up or down and also can be angled.

There are no flip-up iron sights on the gun. Where the front sight would usually be mounted there is instead a mount for a mirage shield (which I don't have, but would like to acquire).

I am surprised your wife did not complain that you are diverting the kitchen fund to the rifle - Your rifle needs to be sitting on a real stone counter, not laminate! :p

The ones at TSE are "re-builds" nice but not original factory guns. Uncle Walther's is one of the original ones. Very nice but the trigger is one of the lightest that I've ever shot on a rifle. It shoots pretty tight I had 3 shots of RUAG almost through the same hole?

Most of my groups were sloppy. But, I actually did manage to get 5 shots with the Ruag all touching. But, it's inconsistent for me; need to practice a lot more to get used to that trigger. Like I said, half the time I seem to end up shooting before intending to.

LOL... she WANTED laminate! Said it was quieter. I wasn't about to argue.....

Your wife sounds like a real practical woman! Judging by your nice rifle I'd say you could probably afford a more expensive counter top.... but thanks to your wife you can have a better performing counter top and save some money!
I don't mind Granite in a bathroom but for a Kitchen your wife is right about the noise!
Some people have more money the brains....sounds like your wife is not one of those people!

I was told that the Sig 550 sniper was discontinued for a variety of reasons. Is this the Swiss Arms version or a classic green dressed up to look like a 550 sniper?

I believe 24 rifles left the factory in Canadian spec recievers wearing the 550 Sniper furniture and trigger. These latest are I believe made by retrofitting some origional and aftermarket parts to standard guns.

IIRC, the origionals sold here for $5800.
