T 81 LMG Just pics and no bull

>Too edgy compared to the rest of the gun.
What does that even mean?!

There is round and there is square (=edgy).

Also, there is that big T-plate at the bottom which looks fugly.

Just function but for that price I would expect something nice looking.

But then, the LMG club foot is also not very nice, wonder how that mount looks on the smaller ones, lol.

I wonder how heavy that thing is.

Pretty sure you can buy those soon on the EE at half the price. No taker here. I rather drill 2 or 3 holes and mount my Russian POSP which has the mount build in. Just have to put the side rail in.

Not sure you understand what 'edgy' means, but okay.
The mount is nothing new, and only the locking mechanism got revamped (stop-notch instead of compression hold). It's a common-enough mount design that you can find copies on aliexpress. That said, I wish you could buy the rail-and-safety alone sans the mount. It's not the prettiest, but it doesn't clash too much.
If you want nicer looking, buy combloc designs and be prepared to pay more. I don't like it either but a rail+mount for 200 is more than reasonable. I got a NPZ AK Universal for 175, but obviously that didn't include a made-to-order rail which, I expect, is where more than half of that 200 dollars went.
Club Foot is love, Club Foot is life. Get your eyes checked.
The rail is thicker than most, but that's to do with the slimmer T81 receiver (at least on the lower half). Not really an issue compared to other solutions, as the difference wouldn't be noticeable without using a scale.
As someone who went through the trouble of slapping glass on a Type81, this is a great deal. That said, I got some reservations (see the appropriate thread on the TI subforum if you're curious), and I wouldn't have bought it before getting those answered if I was still looking for an optic solution. Don't buy mounts for less that 100 dollars, ever, and any PSO scopes for less than 300 dollars, all of which through reputable resellers. Anything less and you're buying airsoft-tier Chinese bootleg.

I bought it from eastwave. Not airsoft.

Asides from all of this, I just need the rail and not the whole setup.

And for sure don't need a red dot on my sniper rifle, cough cough.

Eastwave are good, ok. Who said anything about a red dot, though?

Eastwave is a great site. I got my Kobra and side plate on the way from there right now. I also heard that it’s recommended that you put a 1/16th of an inch metal spacer between your receiver and dovetail side plate to have your optic aligned with the centre of your rifle. Anyone else hear this at all?

Anyways here’s my Type-81 LMG. Got myself 2 Bakelite Magazines in 7.62 (Yay, 5 rounds in my bake instead of 3.) that were actually produced right after another (Numbered 115 and 116) and I just recently got the Kodiak Defence AK-74 Style muzzle brake.

I did put a .125 (1/8th) plate under the sideplate to get the top picatinny in-line with the irons. It effectively eliminated the 'step' in the receiver. It also allowed me to have the sideplate step over one of the rivets on the side and have it sit forward enough, where I wanted it.
Here's a picture of what it looked like before installation.
