T97 barrel issue AND NRR WISHLIST!!!

well seeing as we have a wish list going here .....

I want one of these chambered in 7mm tcu in a 20 inch target barrel .

or at least one with a barrel that threads into the action ( I have read that the barrels are pinned to the action) .

Yes! Thread the barrel into the action!

Gee, I don't get it. I shot my T97 yesterday. No FTF, FTE, small groups, little recoil, none of the chrome flew out, my optic was comfortable, held zero, and no targets kept fighting after I perforated them.

Why all the drama?

Can't wait until you get yours in Can Am- I need a second one I can dress up different.

same here, mine runs like a champ with polymer mags, metal mags, 10 rd mags... no issues, no mods done. you would think NEA made these things with all the pissing and moaning by the ones who have never even held one. :nest:

Have the feed ramp beveled so the lar-15 and other mags feed well, with out FTF, because of the mags being a lil loose.

A better finish? Have a look at post # 3621 on the Norinco 1911 Goverment thread. His T97NSR is garbage and he is sending it back for a full refund and going to wait till the T97 NRR's come in????

I don't drink . But I am thinking about starting? I will try and type slower and keep my thoughts seperated and my sentences simple!!!! My wishlist for the new T97NRR is to have a better finish for the gun. If you would look at post #3621 on the Norinco 1911 Goverment thread. You will see that he has had the finish of his T97NSR disappear when he used Remington action cleaner. He goes on to say that he may get a full refund for the T97NSR and wait for the improved Canada Ammo T97NRR to come in.

T97NSR defective finish

I'm the one from the 1911 post that got a T97NSR with a defective finish. I only sprayed remington action cleaner on it, no rubbing of anything, and in seconds it turned the black paint into a dry white finish, and when I rinsed it with water, and the paint peeled of the gun instantly. I don't know if I just got a defective one or they just use cheap paint for all of them, but it's sure going back for a full refund, and I'll wait and see how the T97NRR turns out, but I have to say I'm not impressed at this moment

I hope Canadaammo will see this and have a little chat with norinco about it, and to the person responsible for the NRR at Canam, if you need more pictures to send to the factory, just send me a PM with your email address and I'll send the pictures to you!

I'm not sure that could be called defective. You did, after all, spray stuff on it.

Yes, stuff that is made for cleaning firearms! I did not use paint stripper or acetone!!! what do you use to clean yours, dish soap and a soft towel??!!

I also called remington about it, and they said that this product is mild on finish, and that in no way it could have caused a normal finish to peel like that,
and that it can only be attributed to a defective or poor finish.

It's not the first time I use this on my firearms, and I've used way worst and more harsh products before, and that never happened to any of my other firearms, so I blame the finish, and not me!

That sucks!
I've used some foaming bore cleaner and hoppe's bore solvent, and some of both got on the finish with no probs. Looks defective to me...

I don't get it the T97 is supposed to be a civilian version of a proven rifle used by the Chinese Army. Such defects shouldn't be coming up unless the importer asked the manufacturer for a reduced spec. product. Therefore an inferior product to make a few extra bucks.

I hope the CanAm batch will be a better batch or they wont sell and the T97 rifle will get a reputation that it cant shed
