Tactical/Modded SKS Picture Thread (can we sticky this?)

I talked with Gerry a couple times, he's good people for sure. if you can post a picture of those baur mags for me i'd like to see them. I was thinking of getting some 5/10 5/30 detachable metal mags for the totally stock sks and see how they run.

Yeah I'll post some, they look and feel better than taco they are the 5/30 ones, great price from tradex, springs are stiff on some so you might have to "adjust" as some have said

Here's my uber-tactical SKS

3 Coats of red mahogany stain & 7 coats of tung oil
Barrel chopped to 19" and crowned
New front sight assembly and front sight post fitted
Tech site rear aperature sight
It's a bit lighter now and better balanced too
Put 200 rounds through it after the mods and she ran like a top
Still want to do a trigger job though

Still need to fit the stock a little better, recrown the muzzle, and some blueing ( spelling?, idk) work.

There are a few how to videos of guys who shouldn't be doing how to videos on youtube showing the install for the G9. I mean seriously don't use a dremel if you have uncontrollable shaking hands. Its not as hard as they make it look.

Did a trigger job too HUGE improvement.

Tula sks, Black timbersmith stock, round muzzle brake, hical rear peep sight. Spring loaded firing pin.
I didn't do the work to it, just bought it this way because most of what I would do to an sks was already done to it. Except the muzzle brake. Not sure I would have gone there... But I might just keep it on it.

 
I tried an Dragonov style stock and scope mount on my last SKS accuracy seemed to suffer.

Here is my refinshed SKS works great, no scope sometimes a red dot though.

Bipod for the range
Basic stock so I don't scare the farmers. And don't catch too much flack at the range. Lol
 
Here is my sks as configured right now:

-Barrel shortened to 18.625" and threaded
-simple single chamber muzzle brake I made myself
-cheese grater handguard
-hical.ca mag adapter
-receiver drilled and tapped for an svd style scope rail
-added POSP 4x24T scope
-russian army tourniquet and bandage serves as a decent cheek rest
