I think you can get a stock for PLR 22.. i know you can for PLR 16.. it is probably the same kit.
I do like this gun a lot, unfortunately have to fund a different project... :( so its got to go :( hopefully i'll be able to get another one down the road.

According to Kel-Tec's site, all the accessories are the same between the various SU and PLR models.

I think the PLR would look great with a top or side folder on it. Couldn't keep the length up to non-restricted, though (thinking about a short barreled SU version instead).

If there's was an PLR upper and SU lower with the telescoping stock, would it be NR? How about putting an 11.1" as opposed to a 10.1" if it's still restricted?

No, PLR is branded as a handgun and will always be a handgun to the RCMP.

The PLR is listed as 18.5" long with the 10" barrel. Adding the telescoping stock and adapter should easily put it over 26" collapsed. We just need Vault to bring in the SU-22 with the short barrel so that it is a non-restricted.

OTOH, starting with a PLR and putting a folder on it (instead of the tele stock) wouldn't cause any reclassification issues, but it would be a range only gun.

So you're sayin if I added a stock and an 18.5" barrel to a GSG 1911, it would be considered non-restricted if it met 26.5"? I realize the PLR uses the same parts at the SU-22, but in the eyes of our stupid Canadian laws, you wont get a pistol to be marked non-restricted even if it does make the requirements.

Same thing with adding a stock to a Ruger Charger...

its because the GSG 1911 frame is registered as a restricted, and adding a stock or longer barrel wont change that

not sure on the charger..... *I think* its just a short stock/short barrel 10/22, but I am not 100% on that

a rossi single shot shotgun recently got re-classified to restricted because the receiver is the same as a revolver.... go figure

You misunderstood (and I was probably unclear). The PLR and SU share the same receiver. I was saying that adding the tele stock to the PLR would make it over 26" OAL and that an SU-22 built with the same 10" barrel as the PLR would still be long enough to remain non-restricted. Under our laws a pistol is always a pistol, no matter what is done to it.
