Tangent Theta scopes???

The only ones on rifles that I know of is the one Andrew was using for competition this past season for testing/fine tuning the last few details, and those pre production units sent to some dealers for review/further testing.

I had the chance to look through one of the 5-25 and the optics are amazing.
I'd say if considering to buy a high end optic its worth waiting for these to be on the market.
Shot show next week will probably have more details.

I'd love to hear from somebody who actually runs one of these atop of their rifle. Experience? Pics? I've googled N read all kinds of reviews but no actual person with actual usage??? Thanks CGNer's,

p.s. I'll either run these scopes or go to S&B ... just trying to find out info prior to purchasing.

You could be the one to run one TT on your new custom, myself to would be interrested at a real person review... I am wall to wall painted S&B but would upgrade to a a TT scope if i have reasons to... JP.

SND I was under the assumption these were in circulation already & people would have had hands on experience ... didn't realize in testing phases.

Caramel/JP I think I'll order a S&B as I need a scope asap and not a patient kinda guy. HAHA.

Until they can be move behind, a S&B is just the reference, on your new coyote the H58 RAL 8000 would be great and a hell of a rig... JP.

I'll google and read up more on that JP. Who other than Wolverine sells S&B scopes in CANADA?

I had a Premier prior to the ownership change.
I really liked the overall design of the scope, glass, etc. however it came out of the box with a couple issues.
The repairs had to be performed by Armament T. as they were the distributer, however they were not properly set up at the time for such repairs.
The scope was sent back to me less than perfect but 'good enough' in their opinion. The guys at Armament and Premier for that matter were great to deal with and tried, but import/export permits were in limbo so there were no replacements available and mine couldn't be shipped back.
Timing sucked and my confidence was lost....sold the scope (with complete transparency to its history of course).
I think this was common both here and US as well so Premier gained a less than perfect reputation in a hurry...however I think the potential was there for a great product.
I think Tangent Theta will put out an awesome product only to crush the old Premier reputation....If Tangent shows up with any of the Premier issues, they will suffer with sales hard.
The price holds me back a bit......especially with the new NF ATACR line up....but I'm still thinking about one.

Coquhoun, thanks for your post, opinion, experience.

icedragonmx, these lads are in Australia eh?

Was it the binding parallax? To bad most guys here think the more they spend on a scope the better it has to be. There was a reason Premier changed course to TT. I hope as a Canadian company they succeed, but for 4k plus there are MUCH better options. Most of you guys have to ask yourselves will the extra 1-2 grand make me shoot better? Is it worth a 2 year warranty (S&B) when your dropping that kinda coin? If you think any scope is immune to failure your sadly mistaken.

canucklehead, thanks, appreciate comments. It is not for us to comment on their contracts, but I do known that they have been on a mission to meet latest milspecs regardless of cost. Not aware of anyone else meeting these standards including guess who?
Are you saying that there are currently no scope manufacturers products that meet the latest milspec standards? Which military are you talking about and what optics do they currently use that is not up to spec?

I originally asked about Tangent as it is CDN made which to me is important & I had never heard of them before so wanted info, experiences. I do however wish for a scope that'll let me see clearly and reach way out there to my targets as I have the widest open space available and want to see how far I can stretch my 50bmg & my 308. Cost was never an issue or factor ... clearity, function and adjustment are key for me. I shall shop around & eventually find whichever scope I feel/think will work for me. Thanks CGNer's,

No binding parallax....both issues were with the elevation turret.
one was the double turn mechanism and the other with the body of the turret.

I like the look of the March scopes, but due to the lack of dealer support (same as Premier had), I'll never buy one just for the risk of having to actually use the warranty.

For me, my best money has and still is with Nightforce......have had 6 in total with not one issue. If I do have an issue I know Peter D.will look after me.

I really like my NF gear never let me down yet, and Peter is always a pleasure to deal with. Win win.

Brian states: Are you saying that there are currently no scope manufacturers products that meet the latest milspec standards? Which military are you talking about and what optics do they currently use that is not up to spec?

Yes, but we will not comment specifically other than to say we have worked with and know snipers from all around the world(CISC), starting in 1998 with work on the Medium Range Sniper Rifle System.

Are you quoting someone else with that response? just curious since you made the statement but are unwilling to elaborate on how there are no scopes in the world that meet current milspec standards.............I don't see military snipers using open sights in combat so they must have accepted what they currently use.
