Tangent Theta scopes???

The optical design and quality of the scope and how it compares to others is quite well explained in the video about 14 or 15minutes in.

My basic understanding of range markers on paralax is that its not really that useful and a rough guess at best with all the variables, some many brand don't put them, some probably do it more for esthetics.
This scope goes paralax free at a fairly close range, 240yards or so in this test/review, which is pretty amazing. http://www.primalrights.com/forum/article.php?a=9491

Well, don't get me wrong. I just don't get it. If the wheel has very little effect due to whatever optical design, why put it on a scope at all.

If it does matter, but only at short ranges, why don't put a simplest marker for user to have a clue what and where "short range is"? Can't you just have a mark at the middle saying 100 or something? I mean going from 0 to infinity without any approximate stops in between is like adjusting a knob without looking at all.

Again, I'm not saying it is bad I'm just puzzled on who would I use it.

Most of the time the #'s on the PA dial are off by a fair margin anyway. I agree it is preferable to have some kind of denomination indicated to get you in the ball park but they're not a necessity. You can achieve the desired result simply by looking through the scope at your target (regardless of range) and dial until a crisp reticle/image are achieved then fine tune to remove parallax. If someone was so inclined a piece of tape could be applied to the PA knob with ranges indicated on it.

From memory; Leupold MK4, Nightforce NXS and Premier Reticle are some of the many scopes that do not have ranges indicated on their parallax adjustments.

I'm no expert, but I believe when you adjust it on any brand of scope you're supposed to be looking through the scope and letting that tell you when its at the proper setting, nothing hard or confusing about it.
I'm sure if there was a use for numbered graduations, they and other brands would bother with it but many don't.

Just for similarity, when you adjust a rheostat/light dimmer you don't need a number on it to tell you if its brighter or darker in the room and by how much, nor which way to turn it if you've used it once.

looks like others got to it while I was typing.

Mine's ordered through PGW... any day now...

Atta boy! Be sure to write a good review. I have a Premier Reticles 5-25 and am excited to hear some real world comments on the "new and improved" version. I highly doubt there will be any major criticism probably more like "it's even better than I expected" type comments.

FF57 have you received your Theta scope yet? Pics? Description?/view on scope?

Still waiting... The worst part has been watching the other thread of everyone getting their pgw products within the month. So envious...

PGW said they are getting a dealer sample next week or so. he told me TT said to them ~90 days for my scope.

I hope they do... shipped with my scope of course.

These are a premium quality optic and are currently taking a while to get as has been noted. We did receive a 5-25 sample last week that is being utilized within a formal Military trial currently. We also have some on order for other folks that we are waiting for...

In my opinion they are extremely good optics.

Since you appear to be a dealer, Can you elaborate on these new features and new military standards that only TT scopes are meeting now according to another user on here?

If they are truly ahead of brands like S&B and Hensoldt in their standards, specs and quality I am interested in buying.

canucklehead, thanks, appreciate comments. It is not for us to comment on their contracts, but I do known that they have been on a mission to meet latest milspecs regardless of cost. Not aware of anyone else meeting these standards including guess who?

Are you saying that there are currently no scope manufacturers products that meet the latest milspec standards? Which military are you talking about and what optics do they currently use that is not up to spec?

Yes, but we will not comment specifically other than to say we have worked with and know snipers from all around the world(CISC), starting in 1998 with work on the Medium Range Sniper Rifle System.

It's comforting to know I'm not alone...

Patience...

Nope, I have yet to receive my scope. I will be sure to take some nice pictures and give a little review once I have it. I was really hoping that making the order when I did that I would receive in time for nice weather. It looks like mother nature is helping out by postponing any good weather.
