I have been watching The last Alaskans and when ever they hunt, their muzzles are always tapped up with black electrical tape, I am assuming it is safe to do or they wouldn't be doing it, what about accuracy?

During the war the Germans had rubber muzzle caps on their rifles and SMG's,could just be shot off if they forgot to take them off.

That's how I lost one of mine a few years ago at the range.

I use electrical tape or a foam ear plug... Have shot many down range at a 300 yard gong on my way home from hunting as I pass the local shooting range... Every bullet so far has hit the steel...

I've used E-tape since I started out taught from the old lads, i put it on almost everytime I go out, snow or not. As others stated the Air in front of the projectile blows threw the tape and it's never effected accuracy on any bullet types or loads, works great! Never tried it on a rifle with a muzzle brake though, so I can't speak to That,

This.

I do it every hunt. Well, every hunt this isn't on the bald prairie.

I don't think I can "tap" my muzzle... my largest bore is a 12 gauge... I'm not bragging, but that won't cut it...
