Tavor FAQ (updated 08 December, 2008)

Apologies if this has been posted, but has anyone done a maintenance/takedown video of the Tavor? Haven't seen one on CGN or through Google, which is pretty surprising considering the popularity of this beauty.

Oh Vey... That 180 twist on the barrel lock sure takes a nice bite out of that bad, bad boy... Sheesh!

I like my stringee thingees... ;)

Definitely more authentic. My only suggestion would be to shorten the excess ends of the strings and burn the ends if they aren't already. In the rear knot, cut the excess strings almost down to the knot and burn/melt the excess onto the knot. Spit on your finger and just smear the melted ends onto the knot. It'll never come out that way. I can post some pics of mine if you'd like.
Nice double mags too.

Just got my tavor the other day and i LOVE it so far. how the hell does a 2 point sling properly attatch? the sling that came with it looks a lot like my IDF improved that i got from zahal a while back. i really do not want string holding it together has anyone found a good solid way to attatch it to the rear swivel hole thing and also to the front swivel sling stud? thanks

We use string (para cord?) to attach the sling to the gun in the IDF, I don't see what the issue with it is... It works in combat, should be good for fun too ;) .

That's what I meant if my description wasn't clear.
The kind of knot doesn't REALLY matter, the bottom one is easier, the top one is better. The bottom one is what the rear attachment should look like, no excess string. If you do the top one, it's common practice to attach both "sides" of the string together, above and below the knot using a zip tie (cut off excess, melt the tip of what's left so it can't unzip).
The lengths of those strings aren't indicative of what I used for my Tavor, they were for my M4. The Tavor strings should be longer, especially the rear string.
