A few people were curious (myself included) if our barrels were chrome plated, so this is the (shortened) response I got from IWI....



...Yes, the TAVOR Rifle barrel is chrome plated 6 RH grooves with 1:7” twist and service life with more than 20,000 rds.....

In the market for a Tavor. Seems $2699 is the going rate, but now I'm just a little confused, do I want one of these new ones with the US style BCG? or the original Israeli style? The newest ones all come shipped with the bottom rail right?

Anyone know who will do what North Sylva claims and sell me one in lefty config?

I didn't know there was a new BCG. I know they come with a different trigger pack now. And are you talking about the rail at 6 oclock on the hand guard? As far as I know they do not ship with that.

The compact nature of the tavor has me overshooting on target transitions, something like this that let's me move my hands further apart would be the cat's meow.

Anyone else having issues with brass?

I was planning to reload but not any of this brass.

I can't figure out how it is denting the brass.

I tried several mags and all had the same results.

Yes it is new, first 100 rounds today.

The case and the neck are both dented.

I've been really considering purchasing one of these for quite sometime now and I think I'm gonna finally pull the trigger I've looked around but haven't really found any info: what is the difference between the newest gen and the older? Do the newest come with the new trigger?

Those are factory CTAR rifles with restricted barrels from the factory, I do not believe they can be purchased separately due to the fact IWI wanted them installed by factory trained armorers ... Liability is always the overwhelming concern...

Don't know if this is the CTAR model exactly but it's the restricted model with the shorter barrel:
