Tavor FAQ (updated 08 December, 2008)

So I removed my handguard today, and noticed that the Cocking handle Lever Base is pinned on ####-eyed.

Has anyone else noticed this on their Tavor? Mine was born in June 2015.

Just an idea for anyone who has the MI Keymod XL handguard for their Tavor:
I personally didn't like how "slick" the handguard is, where your support hand grips the rifle. I added a Magpul handstop and it totally did the trick of resembling what the lip does on the OE Tavor handguard. Works great!

Tavor arrived yesterday. Tossed on a vortex 1-4x scope that I bought for it. Now just waiting for my keymod XL and my trigger to arrive. Not sure how I feel about FDE, as I've always been more of a black gun kind of guy... but the price was right so we'll go with this for now. Now I just need it to warm up a bit so I can hit the range.

I got the same scope, but I have not had a chance to take it to the range yet. How do you like it?
 
Im sorry if somewhere in this forum my question is answered, but my trigger group is different than the ones in the picture on pg 1 and youtube to remove the spring for a lighter trigger pull. There is a spring in the middle that has a pin straight though it. There is no roll pin to remove the spring that it shows to remove and the spring is not there in that spot on the side. I was told i have a gen 2, but im new to Tavor i just got it yesterday and the trigger is heavy...
 
At the risk of getting a bunch of replies deriding amateur gunsmiths - has anyone tried a DIY trigger job? I've polished the sear and hammer hooks on my standard trigger pack but it's still well short of acceptable. I had a chance to fire a Tavor with a Geiselle trigger a few days ago - what a difference! When I went back to my gun I tried to fire it and thought the safety was on, seriously, the difference was that great. I can't find anything on the web apart from a zillion you tube videos showing how to remove the little spring that my trigger pack doesn't even have. I'd love to find something more useful.
 
Any CGN friends have a Tavor in the Windsor region? I would love to get a chance to actually shoot one before dropping 3 grand... Will pay for your range drop in fee at WAPC if you're not a member and you can try out my DDM4A1 in exchange :)
