Tavor FAQ (updated 08 December, 2008)

bigger dot as you add eye relief...

i found the opposite true, trying to get a better sight picture i slid the gun farther away from my eyes and tried to center it more on my chest my damn arms just aren't long enough...

smaller dot the closer you get to it...

anyhow you decide...

You can see in your own pictures; from the back of the stock, the reticle is blurry. As hell. Your nose basically needs to sit on the back of the Mepro optic in order to get it crisp and distinct.

Seriously, my $90 fake EOTech is way, way better.

blur is just a bad photo

I can't get my camera focus to pinpoint the reticule, i just tried to give you an idea of the size...

i would love to slap a trijicon onto the gun and be done with it...

cheers

I looked through the Mepro the other day, it is pretty much as your pictures show, to me anyways.

I was going to throw an Accupoint 1-4x on it... but then I'd have to get the railed version... and then get the Mepro just to throw it in my closet anyway.

How did you order it from them? They don't seem to sell directly to customers and none of the dealers they have listed seem to carry that part.

They had no problems selling to me, I simply called them direct after emailing them, their response in the email was:

To order, please call Richard at 914-964-0742 x 267. He will be happy to
assist you.

I actually spoke to a different fellow but he had no problems taking the order and charging my Visa etc. Indicated to use USPS as well instead of UPS, no issues.

Cheers
Tim

Tavor mark   [Tahvor mahrk]
–noun
1. a visible stain on your cheek and shooting glasses from gasses expelled from the receiver, branding you a 'Tavor shooter' and providing unending entertainment for those around you.

The M21 adapter arrived from Kimber the other day, didn't take long at all. Works well but getting the factory screws out of the original mount was next to impossible. I think they glued them in.

I was able to get three out but the third had to be drilled and vice gripped out.

Here is how it arrived and mounted. Thankfully it included new screws.

Now it's a much better height than the stock mount (stuck on the rail).

Some people have reported issues ordering from Kimber to Canada but the fellow I spoke with (James) had no issues, I imagine since it's only a mount.

The Kimber Part number is ML68803 for $130.00 + shipping as I recall.

It's no Arms mounts but it's very good. Actually it's MUCH easier to remove than my ACOG Arms mount (that sucker is impossible to remove unless you use something for leverage).

I've updated my post above with cost and part number.

Cheers

Thanks for the post! It's nice to see another mounting alternative, or at least one where we can use the mepro sight on other rifles.

BTW, I'm curious if the accuracy of your Tavor is better as a result? One or two people (including me) have noticed a wobble in the original mount, which can't be good for accuracy.

I just wish I had a Tavor. :( Can anyone point me in the right direction to order importable parts to the US? Also is there anyone who can get true specs or dimensions of the complete rifle and un-importable parts? Gun laws are just plain ignorant!!!
