Tavor FAQ (updated 08 December, 2008)

Why? I could understand if we were talking about 308 or 300-06, but a 223 barely recoils anyways. It's not like you would lose control of the rifle muzzle due to a 2-3 round burp.

Don't get me wrong though, it would be pathetic to spend this amount of cash on a rifle just to have to put up with slamfires. But to be honest, I'm sure that more than a few of us would get their kicks out of a few burps from their rifles. :D

Having a firearm discharge on it's own is just plain HAZARDOUS period. Imagine loading it in a self defense situation and BANG! Through the wall of your house and into your neighbours (Let's not start a self-defense with firearms in Canada thread here folks). Or in a hunting situation letting the bolt go forward on a fresh mag and boom there goes your intended target bounding away. With proper muzzle control you will be safe at the Range but elsewhere it could really make you have a bad day. Bottom line it is UNACCEPTABLE.

Technically, some police officer can charge you with having a fully automatic weapon should you experience a double or triple tap. I'm sure that this has happened in Canada.

correct me if I'm wrong (still newbie and all). The Tavor shown in regards to this thread is the Israeli TAR-21 ? They come with the built in Mars sight, correct ?? Saw it on future weapsons season 1 episode 6 "The power of fear"

Also which sponser might carry them, i have taken a quick look but to no avail...

So far flawless. Just got back from putting a few hundred rounds down the barrel at a buddies 1/4 section. No issues what so ever with various ammo types including cheap surplus, and more expensive factory .223 factory ammo.

Just try my new Tavor and have a few quick questions:
1. Does the bolt stay open after the last round? Mine does not.
2. The trigger pull is very smooth unlike what other people say. Is this batch does some adjustment on the trigger?

Thanks for the help.

Yes the bolt holds open on the last round it is supposed to and I don't think people say the trigger isn't smooth just real heavy pull.

Here are some pics of the Tavor with the short barrel installed. Ar15 is a colt LE6920 for size comparison.

how about tritium replacement irons for the tavor? I have a pair sitting on my desk, im honestly to lazy to bust out the camera tonight. I will upload pics tommorow though.

A few quick questions

Does anyone use the MARS sight? If so how is it? Does it worth the price?

I have bought the short barrel. But I do not how to change it? I read the manual and it looks like I need a barrel wrench. But where can I buy it? Thanks.

BUIS gas block

Is it possible to get a gas block without the Back Up Iron Site?... Does it come with the new restricted barrel?

My first gen BUIS is molded into the rear gas block, and tritium flip up in the front. No tritium installed in the rear though...

want that short barrel, looks really nice...

cheers
