Interesting stuff indeed. So, I hit the range today to try to convince my Tavor to feed. PMAG inserted, no feed, but bolt cycled correctly. Removed mag, tried to reseat. Mag didn't seat properly and couldn't feed (entirely different than the partial feed from earlier this week). Switched to the stock IWI mag. Same issue. Moved to a third metal mag with only 4 rounds. Nada. Now getting upset with said rifle.
Tried swearing on it. Tried pleading with it. Prayed to Yahweh, you know, seeing as this is Israeli made. Finally I did what I learned in the Infantry. I applied more force than needed to overcome an obstacle. Tap, rack, bang (with far more tap than needed). Magazine seated (with a click I never heard before), round fed. Fired off PMAG no trouble. Then another. Then another. I was unable to reproduce my FTF. All mags worked fine, 50 rounds without an issue.
I'm not sure what happened. I usually seat my mags with more force than needed so why this seemed to get things moving again this one time I am unsure. Hoping this doesn't happen again. Still, I will say I love this rifle. Very comfortable to shoot...when it shoots.
