Do it. My wife nearly divorced my ass when I told her I just bought a 3000$ Tavor. She was pissed at me for close to 6 months. 3000$ was a #### load of money for us back then. In the end I made the right decision. :)

I had to sell 3 rifles to afford this one. But I made the right choice. The 3 rifles I sold werent 1/3 as cool as this one each... so despite a smaller number of guns in my safe, my coolness actually increased. And we all know... thats all thats important.

I am in the same situation, this gun is awesome, but the price tag is just so high, hard to take the plunge.
 
So stupid me sold my tavor I got a year ago and missed it so much I bought a new one from AF the other day.

I had a small observation when cleaning it after the range yesterday.

On the side it has printed TAVOR 21 not the old TAVOR TAR-21 and the bolt carrier group is the same as the TAVOR-SAR and like the SAR you cant remove the recoil spring from the buffer.

has anyone noticed this with their Tavor's from recent buys. Also it dos not have the QD sling attachments like the SAR just the bolt carrier is the same.

so as it seems the Tavor's here in Canada and the USA are the same rifles now.

Bought my tavor recently, and I can remove the recoil spring and there are no QD mounts.
So mine is not the same as the US Tavors.
 
I just checked 3 Tavors. Two of them brand new from the most recent batch in FDE and One black from a batch about 9 months ago. All 3 are stamped "Tavor21" on the side but all 3 I can remove the recoil spring. I also had one other from the first batch of Gen2's that is no longer in my possession but it was stamped "Tavor Tar21" and also could remove the recoil spring.

My own is stamped just like that and has the SAR BCG it is from this latest batch that just came in this past week or so
