Tavor VS Type 97??

Whenever the T97s actually get here I would be delighted to sit down and do a side by side comparison.

It seems evident now that whatever rifle Type97 owners had years ago is not the same as the rifle that people are currently getting excited about.

or . . . OR . . . the T97 is the wave of the future and you're supposed to aim with lasers.

Why bother with cheek weld when you can put a 10Mw monstrosity on there, paint your target and fire from the hip?

To the guy who intimated Norinco firearms are junk I know he is mistaken. I have owned several Norinco guns and they have all been well made, reliable and accurate, even my 93, the inexpensive Colt Woodsman 2 pistol copy will hit 6" plates off a bench at 25 yards, it won't knock them over, but I had a buddy spotting with binocs and he coud see the strikes

There are two type of people.
Those that divide people into two neat groups,
and those that dont.

I'm part of the latter group. :)

Lets be honest, there's only one type of person. And that person is a smart-ass.

Back on topic. Is it true that this infamous Lecter character did some gunsmithing on his T97 before producing the groups we are looking at?

The Type 97 is already out dated. It's got a fixed carry handle! That's a no go for any decent form of check weld with optics.
I think the purpose of that carry handle is to increase the strength (2nd moment of inertia) of the receiver while keeps the weight low, rather than actually for carrying...
