Testing Criteria for Take Down, back pack, hiking and survival 22 cal rifles

YES,this is a SURVIVAL rifle not a bench rest target rifle...most shots will likely be small game and under 25 yards ,compactness, reliability are what is needed. I have a H&R 20 guage 'Survivor' that would do nicely if you wanted something other than a 22. Shot for birds or rabbits, or a slug for a deer .It has an integral shell carrier in the butt stock.

ya..... im underwhelmed with the Papoose so far.
uncomfy to hold and......

cup your support hand over the front of the stock, like your supporting a black rifle by the mag well, not ideal, but is fine for 22 ranges.

none of them have any storage in them.
which is funny because for the Papoose i was thinking to myself as i was playing with it.... if they made a pack rifle that NEEDS a tool to take down and put together why in the hell didnt they make storage for it in the butt of the gun so that you always have it with the gun and never loose it?????????

don't need the wrench, there is slots you can use a coin in to tighten the barrel nut (page 3, image 3 of your user manual), personally I don't bother with either and just make it finger tight when shooting, never had an issue.

was out today shooting it, finished up after only maybe 50 rounds and the barrel was easily 2 full turns loose - and i had tightened it with the wrench and i cranked that sucker on!

OK update.

where am i with the testing and a question for the masses.
Question - do you guys want the info as im going just slapped up here OR do you want it all in a new post with ALL the stuff in one big helping so its all together?

where i am so far.
1) cold weather test is done @-30. (pics and video)
2) complete disassembly and reassembly of guns and cleaning with a good oil is done (G96). (pics and video)
3) cold weather test #2 is done @-30 (after cleaning and good weather oiling). (pics and video)
4) today i did the first accuracy test with open site shooting @ 22Meters/72Feet (pics and video and targets kept)

left to do
1) accuracy 50 Meter shooting with scope
2) accuracy 100 meter shooting with scope (for fun)
3) a mix of ammo (low velocity vs high velocity)

im just waiting for the scopes i ordered to come in to finish off the accuracy testing - went with the UTG Bug Buster 3-9X32 Compact CQB Scope with sunshade and rings included - seemed like a good deal for the money and a good match for these guns.

Would both options be greedy?

hahahahahahaha!

so i spent last night going over all the video i had made for this, in particular yesterday when i was out shooting the open site test.
i talk a LOT when im by myself filming shooting videos!!!!!
im just a regular chatty Kathy sitting at the bench popping off rounds.
everything under the sun.

well ive got a bunch of very long video's done, ill start uploading them tonight when i go to bed so they can kill my internet while i sleep instead of my kids killing it with their streaming.

im doing some testing tomorrow for another project im working on so ill hopefully sit down and write up some stuff and link the youtube video's for sat/sun.

so, something to chew on.
i dont wanna spoil the anticipation but i will say one thing, the Papoose did very poorly on the open site challenge.
im not sure if the barrel worked itself loose during the shoot or if its just a poor shooting gun but it got creamed by the other 3.
i was VERY surprised by that seeing as all the hype on the micro rifling.

im holding out on a final decision on it until i get all the guns through the scope accuracy test.

its probably only had around 200 rounds so far.
im almost tempted to go back out with just the Papoose and try it a 2nd time but that would be kinda like cheating when comparing it to the other guns.
i think ill go out and season all the guns with another 100 rounds of random shooting before i do the scope challenge.

I say a final post with all the findings. It'll be like opening a Christmas present and it will be easier to find for those not following the thread.
