Hi, Mystic Precision Jerry,
I am wondering if you can source some quality 7.5X55 brass such as Lapua, Nosler or Norma for me, all I could find in Canada is only PPU.
And my hand loads were done with full-length RCBS 2-die set, there should be some more room to improve regarding reloading for this rifle and my shooting technique of course.
Thanks,

I have been thinking that there was something wrong, or I should have got better 10-shot group.
Any advise welcome!
Thanks

I was shooting at club de tir Pionnier. The range have 5 targets of 300 meters, shooting from indoor to outdoor.
On left side, there is a wooden door, when it is open, that is a 1000 meter range, but only for a ballistic research company, not for civilians.

You inspired me! Did this today. very little wind. AI/AT .308, 185 Juggernauts, 10 shots, 300 yards, prone off Atlas bipod. 2.01"x 1.85" measured from greatest vertical and horizontal holes, outside of hole as reference point. Didn't do the minus calibre diameter calculation as not the clear on how you figure out group size officially.

The target boards were wet, hence all the shrapnel and ratty looking target, sorry about that. Sized x2 lapua large primer brass, powder thrown by Chargemaster, not weighed. Case prep consisted of shooting, depriming sizing , priming, throwing powder charge, seating bullet. Lord knows how well this rifle would shoot if some one who knew how to do all that fancy reloading stuff was loading for it.

Way to go big bear!! Nicely done!!

So the group measures 2.010 outside edge to outside edge?

You just subtract the bullet diameter from that measurement (0.308) which gives you 1.702"

Let me know if that is correct and I'll update the page.

Congrats!

With the ratty holes the group may be a bit smaller,so I was very conservative in my measurements. but I'll take 1.702 with a smile:cool:. Sad to say but the AI is beginning to make me dislike my other rifles.

Managed to crank it up another notch today.
At service rifle practice, also had another fun tidbit, in my 1200+ shots of .308.
It's the first time my rifle wouldn't move at all during the shot, and I actually spotted my own trace through the scope.
When I managed this specific shooting position and could spot my own tracing, these targets showed better results than the targets I didn't manage to spot my own trace.

300 Meters, 35F sunny, light cross wind that would come and go, 24/11/18
No windage dialed at all.
10 rounds shot under 3-4 minutes.

Savage 10TR 308 win w/ IBI 26'' M40 profile barrel
175 gr SMK @ 2700 FPS using 42.7gr Varget
Prone w/ Harris bipod and Coretac solutions regular size bean bag.
