Thanks J996 for posting these above pics for me!
Both barrels were spun up for me by Insite Arms, and are fantastic!
The AI AT, with Comp Trigger, and LRA Bipod, is in 6BR and is a Krieger 4 groove, shooting pointed Berger 105s, with Varget, and the bottom group, shot by the SRS, is a Benchmark, chambered in 6BRA, shooting Berger pointed 108s, with H4895.

Got out yesterday for the 3rd time to try to make this challenge, the range was GPS measured at 313 yards.

Rifle is a Savage 10T 308win 24", Bushnell fixed 10 power scope, 45gr varget, CCI 200LR primer, WCC90 brass. Shooting off bags.

Measured 3.230" outside to outside with calipers minus .308= 2.922" also used balisticx & got 2.94" so I think I've finally gotten a successful attempt, had a few sub 2" groups spoiled by 1 or 2 fliers trying this challenge with the same 308 so I'm going to keep trying for under 2". Even had 1 target I shot 12 times by mistake with 10 in just under 2". Looking forward to getting some hunting rifles through this challenge as well, had a few close attempts so far but dang it's hard for me to not mess up a 10 shot group.

Thanks, Yeah it sure is, looking forward to getting out again in a couple weeks to try again with some other rifles.

It is a different animal to shoot a ten shot group. I get some screamer groups going with the first 5-6 shots under and inch then end up stretching it out to 2.5-3”. Or Sometimes its the first 2 shots that push it out to over 3”.. I have a long term challenge for myself, I would like to get most of my rifles tuned up to make this challenge.

Personal challenge achieved: 1.907"

AI AW .308 Win
S&B 3-12X50 PMII
Hardy/Insite Arms heavy palma barrel, Insite Heathen brake.
Shot prone with Parker Hale bipod and Triad rear bag
300 yds.

The paper target was a bit ragged so I measured the cardboard backing.

Stay inside...kiss my Buttstock

What to do when the things have gone sideways to the point that indulging in a little outdoor recreational activity could have some busybody taking your pic, and the rage it induces forces the PM to enact the War Measures Act. Maybe a little over the top...it's still Tuesday though.

Lucky for me I live in a small community, with large lots, and neighbors that won't loose their minds if they see you out of your house (a little gun fire won't freak them either). Luckier still, I have a very large decommissioned mine site close by. It gives me a couple of nice clear lanes, one 295m, and one about 500m. Our local Club lost its nerve, and shut down for two weeks, the Pres is a bit concerned about the optics I think, fair enough. That leaves me with a pause of unknown duration where I can't shoot my .223...Stupid Allan Rock. I'm so glad I have my 6mm CM and a challenge to try.

295m according to Goggle. 2.730"
Savage 10T-SR 6mm CM, Cabelas Covenant 5 5-25X56
107gr Nosler CC, 40.9gr H4350
Overcast, 5c, W 6 km/h (about 5:30), 70% RH, 102.24 kPa

Goes to show you what can be accomplished with "one of those cheap plastic Savage-jobs" eh? :nest:

What is your impression of the Cabela's scope? Doesn't seem to be much in the way of reviews on any of them.

It's been really good, 2/3" groups are easy, 1/2" about 70% of the time. I replaced the trigger with a RB Sav-1 as the AccuTrigger and I don't get along. Skim bedded the Action, bedded the Recoil Lug, and stiffened the front end, I'd rather have a Chassis, but I can work with this.

The Scope has been great for the $440 to my door I spent on it. The eye relief seems a bit wacky to me, but it tracks well, and in my opinion punches well above its weight. I like the Reticle, it's nice and bright at full power. I'm not so confidant about the Warranty being honored long term, but so far so good.

I don't mind the AccuTrigger, kind of nice to be able to easily adjust the weight. Although, after coming from playing with milsurps these Savage's feel like they have a really light trigger. Actually, the lightest trigger I've ever seen was a biathlon rifle - scary light, but on a .22...

On the .308 10T-SR I replaced the synthetic stock with a Boyds laminate At-One thumbhole and that thing is an absolutely delightful. Gotta get back out into the bush and see if it makes any difference, though I did a little bedding just to tighten things up. Got a .223 more recently, not sure if I'll swap the stock or not (dollar conversion being what it is at the moment) but I will say that the rubber butt pad on the Savage stock is really quite nice.

Doing a little social distancing at the range with my stock Tikka Varmint in .243. This is my first try at a 10 shot group at 300m. I'm hoping to do better and with the self isolation stuff going on I should be able to get lots of reloading done.
