Shot this back in December. 300m, Two different rifles, string of 20 shots. One flyer in the 300wsm group was shot #17, ruined a nice sub-2" group that I had going.
Shot off a front/rear bag on my tail gate, pic of the 6.5-284
Pic of the 300wsm, the scope was chaned out since that pic- to a vortex hslr ffp.
This is a fairly new-to-me Savage Model 12 LRP in 260 Remington. Just started load development & thought I'd give this a go with the best load so far. Still fine tuning and will definitely re-visit as the load and my comfort behind this rifle improves.

I got out for my first attempt and was successful. The rifle is fairly new to me. Bought on here few weeks ago. I was struggling with mirage from the first day of sun in a while and gusty wind but managed to pull it together on my last group. I will try again to beat today's group on a better day. Still happy with the outcome.
Shot today
Gusty from +-5-30km??? winds.

Good shooting guys. I'm nearing on some good .338LM load development for my new build. My range is notoriously gusty, but I'll see if I can't beat this challenge this spring.
Heres my submission(s):
From the bench with rest and rear bag I tried with:
the Tikka T# 223. 60 gr spitser with 23.2 gr of BL(c2) but that was all over the map. POS PMO attempt.
The rest is out of a savage 308 10FCP HS prcsn.
44gr varget behind a 168gr hrndy match HPBT at -0.0075.
as you can see I missed one sub MOA group by my first shot off in the weeds.. what a let down.. I kept shooting anyway.. I should have sent one more down to pipe just to see if in fact I could do a sub group on this gun... Still working the load so I'll be revisiting this... as usual.. if I can find myself a nice .22 to try this with.. I'll be doing that also. With my lakefield dinosaur .22 I can get hits on 8x11 paper at 300 using holdover only.. but thats conversation for another day!
Cheers Gents!
I will post set up details next time to the range. That part is mostly the same from trip to trip. Completely out of mind as I was doing this...
