The 10 rounds @ 300 yards cgn online challenge.

I was out today and did another 10 shot challenge with my Tikka T3 varmint in 223 1-8 twist
Ammo was factory Hornaday match 75gr as I don't reload.
Scope is a Vortex PST 6-24x50,Warne rings

Hi pei precision,

I had to review the rules on this one. It has to be a paper target and it can not have any extra rounds on it (sighters). Nice shooting though and I have no doubt you would easily complete this challenge on a paper target.

Cheers,

J.

I motion to accept pei precision's results as is in electronic format- electronic targets are not new pieces of technology, despite being relatively new in Canada. I think a rule modification would be a more appropriate solution here. If we're lucky, it may encourage the other Canadian ranges to struggle into the 21st century and install electronic targets for more efficient practice. No need to shun the future just because it's not the way we've always done it.

If we are taking targets that have more than 10 holes, I strongly disagree. I have a 1/2 MOA (1.664") 10 round group with 12 shots on paper, doesn't count because there are 12 shots on paper.

To everyone saying prove the group... here's a link https://i.imgtc.com/pPF0CAN.png

If the rules are going to be changed for electronic targets I would respectfully suggest we also revisit the issue of posting and sorting results in MOA as opposed to inches.

There will be no rule change. Paper target with a measured group size in inches to the thou (0.000").

As to running this in MOA, we can revisit that idea in the fall (perhaps 1, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 moa categories). I am quite busy this summer and do not have time to reorganize this thing right now. I will try to keep up with listing peoples results, may take a few day at times but I will be checking the thread.

Cheers.

Why can't you make a picture of the target after you are done? The screenshot is from Silver Mountain Target system, is it not? Don't you still shoot at a paper target with Silver Mountain? It should be a paper target with holes afterwards.

The screenshot does not even show 10 hits, the markings are all one over another, if you never saw that particular target system you may not even figure out what the group size is and whatnot.

I'm not saying it not legit, but next time some one will have an excel sheet with 10 rows of numbers "as was exported from a target system".

They don't patch or pull targets between shooters or strings. Those targets are shot to ####.

we run 3 shooters on each target each string and we run two strings at each distance and never patch the targets so they have "centers" but not "centers" hahaha, ya i was mistaken posting the pic at all draws more problems than the attempt was worth. i also take for granted that alot of guys have exposure to the targets and scoring system the two sighters are marked "s1" "s2" and thought the score made sense as it adds up to 10x5=5 with 5 "v"s and the distance is marked on the top right and the grid is in moa squares for moa at that range. great target system but not for this challenge.

Posting this for big bear.

Conditions: 12C, wind 5mph.
Calibre: .308 Win
Rifle: AI AT
Position: Bench from bipod.
Distance: 300 yards.

2.713"

Nice shooting.
