The 10 rounds @ 300 yards cgn online challenge.

223 remington.

That makes sense about the moa vs inches thing. I’m going to tweak a few reloading things and see if I can get that down under an inch on a calm day.

Here’s a pic. Almost all canadian build.
Ok thanks for that, will update the results tomorrow

So not exactly 3.00", but doesn't 3.08" qualify at 300 metres?

223 Rem 783 with a 30" JC.
Hornady 88 gr ELD.
23.2 gr Varget.

Converting your group to 300 yards would be 2.820” I believe . Good shooting and suks that one lone low flyer. Repeat with different projectile as mentioned. Out of curiosity,do you sort bullets by weight?

I can't drive the ELD's as hard as I want, only about 2700 fps, then the groups go to ####, so I'm going to give the Sierra's a go.

As for sorting bullets, no, not yet anyway, if I was going to shoot a match I probably would.

Went out to shoot the challenge on a beautiful day. The old m24 with a fixed 10x still shoots pretty well.

The more modern m40a5 with a 3-12x s&b did a bit better. Also was running Alpha OCD brass. Really consistent so far.

May I please submit another entry to this challenge? I completed an attempt earlier today at the Crown Land Institute for Target Shooters (CLITS):

My rifle is a Tikka CTR with a 20" 308 Win barrel shooting Hornady 178 grain BTHP Match bullets over Varget at a modest 2500 fps. The scope is a Burris XTR III 3.3-18x50 in a Spuhr mount. My target was stapled to a cardboard box on a 20 L bucket setup at a distance of 302 m (~330 yds) and it was T-shirt weather with almost no wind. This was my result:

I was experimenting with a few different targets and this diamond with high-contrast corners seems to be my preference for holding a consistent POA - better than a circle or a smaller diamond that's hard to resolve. I measured the group with callipers at 2.38" but this app suggests a slightly smaller albeit similar extreme spread of 2.33". Either way it's a satisfactory result and I'm gonna try to improve on it in the future!

I was testing a 10 shot group at a lower charge weight, turned out decent for this almost cooked barrel. 6.5 CM Savage Stealth in an XRS.
