Want vs Need. Want usually wins out

Had Corlanes in Dawson Creek rebarrel a T3x Lite 243 with an International Barrels Inc ( IBI ) 26" medium hunter contour 1:7 twist 5R, chambered in 22 Creedmoor.

Rifle weighs 9lbs 2oz with the Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16x50 w/ FFP XLR reticle in Talley tactical rings and a steel picatinny rail.

Picked up some large rifle primer pocket 22cm Alpha brass from Gary at Bighorn Sales in Houston. A .251 bushing for my Redding TypeS 6.5 Creedmoor neck die and a 22cal VLD micormeter seating stem for my 6.5cm seater die works well for making ammo. Hornady has listed a 22 Cm die set now which would be an easier route.

Quick n dirty gravel pit range test, shooting off the tail gate at 92 yards. Tried 3 different bullets, average 3 shot group was 0.65moa

Pretty happy with the results! Will run some more powder next time, these loads were pretty conservative

Cleaned the barrel and changed bolt handle, bolt shroud and grip out.

So much awesome has not been included in one thread for quite a while!

Not even too bad a weight considering barrel and glass on there. Make a nice Varmint/target/deer/bear rifle.

Love to see what some 77gr LRX’s will do. Both on target and game!

Will be following this closely. Specially when spring rolls around and you can stretch em out a bit.

Two thumbs way up for the .22Creedmoor

Another was built with the same barrel specs, on a portugal Winchester Model 70, Timney trigger, bedded into a McMillan Game Scout.

Won't get to shooting the m70 until the snow melts

88ELD looks awesome, with a G7 BC of .268 (.534g1), 3250 fps MV, really shines downrange. 20moa drop at 1000y from 200y zero, doesn't dip below 1350 fps until 1300 yards. 1000 ft lbs energy at 600y. Not bad for a 22 cal
.

Should be a great setup.

I have had a couple 22-250AIs with 8 twist barrels, basically same same. Mine doted on the 75 A-Max at 3350+ over H4350. That was pre-88 grainer days, although they both shot better with 75s than 80s.

Looking forward to hearing as you work up to final loads.

I've had a 9 twist Savage 22-250 that shot the 75Amax well (3350 fps / 26" with H4350). I just ordered an 22" 1:8 twist Mossberg 22-250 just to mess with too

Very Nice tod I'm liking everything about that 22 CM cartridge ! is that a chinese made model scope on that rifle ? RJ

Philippines I think

I was thinking about a 22hotrod for a yote rig and was looking the 22creedmoor too.

Right now Im getting another 223 barrel made for the 80 ELD's and was thinking that they would also do good in the 22 creedmoor. I was reading the guys were getting like 3450ish with the 80's. but with 3250 youll have a lot better barrel life out of it thats for sure. :)

At least the bolt handle is on the correct side of the model 70.
I am a fan of fast twist .22 centerfires. The creedmoor is certainly interesting I hope either it or a faster twist for the .22-250 catches on with manufacturers.
