The 30-30 club, are you in?

Winchester model 94 in 30-30

I also own 2 model 94 38-55's, one my great grand pappy bought new after retuning from the Spanish American War (He made it from Cpl to Major during the conflict) the other is an Alberta commeorative (Purchased new by my Grandfather), still NIB, with 2 boxes of commemorative shells!

All 3 are never sell firearms, 2 I inherated, I plan on passing all 3 down to the next generation.

Cheers!

I have a new hunting spot this year and will using my pre64 30-30 for the first time!
Have loaded some Hornady ballistic tip "FTX" bullets which shoot dead on!
Have a Williams peep sight on the back... hope to fill the freezer this fall.

:D
Grab a .44 mag. revolver & drive to Maine this year & HUNT WITH THE MEN & pick up some pointers on how to kick anti ass til they beg for mercy at the same time.

I'm in, with my Winchester Model 94 made in 1954. I used it last fall to bag two Whitetail Bucks. It's also my travel and bush gun.

You better believe it! My first centerfire was a .30-30 my father bought for me while I was only five (he didn't give it to me until I was older though I got to shoot it at that time under his supervision). Today I still have a model 94 in .30-30 (dad has the one he gave me, he likes it so much...) For many of my friends .30 wcf is the benchmark against which other rifles are measured.

It amazing how the "elitists" have long ago written off the .30-30 as ancient and ineffective, yet quietly it has gone about selling more firearms and ammo than probably any other combination and continues to take game from small to huge every year.

I was a member. My Dad bought me a Winchester model 94 30-30 when I was 18. It was on sale at the Outdoor Store in Toronto for $99. I traded it for a varmint rifle a few years back since I was not hunting deer and I have to stay under .275 cal where I live. I regret it now and I have tried to buy it back.

At present I would like to find a Trapper in 30-30 with a saddle ring and no receiver side safety. I plan on this being my #1 saddle gun. I have an ad in the EE. Cash is in hand please PM me.

Count me in!
I have a Winchester 30/30 AE Large loop saddle ring carbine.
Its got the ever popular williams peep sight.
Its not the most accurate rifle I own but for what it was made for there is nothing better.
I just got back from the range sighting in for deer season and as far as sight adjustments go, it was a waste of time.
She's still hitting right where I left her last time!
My dad has a pre 64 model 94 in 30/30 as well.
We have literally lost count of how many deer we have harvested with them.
My uncle has a Winchester model 94 rifle that he got from my grandfather.
Its got (as I remember , its been a while since I've seen it) a half round, half octagon barrel. Its in fair shape, the bore is great as is the barrel finish, but the reciever has NO bluing left on it at all.(from being carried every deer season since it was new.
My uncle's gun has 4 digits in the serial # and the first digit is 1.
Anyone know what it might be worth? (not that it matters ,its NEVER going to be for sale)
My description may not be exact btw I'm going from memory here.
Eric

Well, I just got a really neat and unusual 30-30 today - it is a Husqvarna model 35 single-shot bolt, with a 25" octagonal barrel, only weighs 6.5 lbs. What a sweetie! Standing leaf and 2 flip-up leaves, quite a bit of case colours on the bolt still. Can't wait to try it out!

Great rifle, but watch you don't loose the extractor.

Some info for you...
