Bat Masterson commemorative in 30-30, with a Williams foolproof & redfield sourdough front sight. About 15 years ago i was walking through thick bush with my beagle cross & a 7.5 foot sow grizzly came after my dog. The dog came straight back to me with the bear so fast behind him i had trouble swinging the gun fast enough to hit her. Luckily the bear was so intent on the dog that she ran right past me, abut 2 feet away with the dog somewhere behind me. I got a lucky shot into her spine & tumbled her in a sumersault. 2 quick brain shots to be sure & i could reach out with one foot & touch her head without moving my other foot. It was the most exciting 10 seconds of my life, & as a retired bush pilot i have a few exciting moments to choose from. Brian.
