The 30-30 club, are you in?

A couple of months ago, I managed to weasel my way into a Mossberg 472 for a song. Bought it and never looked back. It's a great little gun. I would never hesitate to recommend a .30-30 lever gun to anyone.
 
I had a Winchester 94 in 30-30 many years ago a just a couple of years ago "upgraded" to a Win 94BB in 375 Win. The 375 is fun to shoot with cast bullets and quite accurate too.

just ordered the 200 year anniversary of the 1895 Winchester 30/30 in High Grade from Wholesale Sports. Of course they did not have it in stock, got to wait 3 to 6 months. I can hardly wait. can not remember if the year designation is 94 or 95. anyway it's a honest Anniversary to god Winney. No scope no way no how on that one. The thurty thurty has put more meat on more tables than any other caliber save the 303 Enfield SMLE and the 30/06. U just have to remember it is a 100yd rifle and you have to place your shots. There is a feeling that comes over you when you are in the bush hunting with a rifle with that much history. There ante no flies on the thurty thurty.

Well, mine should be here by tomorrow hopefully, and am wondering...what ammo would you guys recommend for moose? (Which will be at most a 100...maybe 150 yard shooting distance. I picked up rem's core-lokt 170 gr sp, and a box of win's 170 gr. silvertips. Would these do the trick within the above range? new to 30-30, so would like some advice..I know they will kill a moose, just curious if they are a good bullet choice.

Have a 1894/1971 NRA centennial MUSKET Full wood 26" barrel WILLIAMS FP94 Site. ,30-30 great rifle,great cartridge. Largest Grizzly ever shot was with a ,30-30 and i believe thePLUTE elk,one of the largest was also shot with a .30 WCF. My 300win mag and 30-06 now spend alot more time in the SAFE! cheers POPS:agree:
 
Purchased a Marlin 336 in .30-30 recently. Did the first cleaning but have not yet had a chance to shoot it yet... soon though!
