That is certainly an interesting mix bag of suggestions.
From your personal choice of opting for a Les Baer as your if-i'd-do-it-again to the suggestion of an FAMAE SG-542 (@ $2,700) for a battle rifle??!
For that budget, there are a number of AR10s that would out perform that rifle - why not get the most out of your hard earned $$$.
Yes. It is a mixed bag due to the roles I feel these models have, as well as their capabilities. For instance, for my NR battle rifle suggestion: M14 (go with the inexpensive norc, or more expensive standard springfield--whatever one can afford). I don't think the SG 542 would be accurate enough for a DMR, so I put it in the NR "battle rifle" catagory.
I should have been clearer--my choice for a restricted precision semi 308: Les Bauer--they'll at least give you an accuracy guarantee.
I would exclude all Armalite 308's simply based on my experience with their product (this was years ago), but also due to their lack of support with said product. People I respect here like theirs, but mine was a big time lemon.
Which leads us to DPMS--the winner for
restricted semi auto 308 catagory of best value for the dollar.
My opinion(s) only. People's experiences will obviously differ.
We (on CGN) should do an "Academy Awards" night once a year

Members of "the Academy" (CGN) should vote for rifles in a number of endless catagories "best new hunting rifle", best" restricted semi auto sniper rifle," "Best non-restricted semi auto" etc.,
It might be a good way to hi-light why we can't just buy the best rifle out there for our purposes (because we in Canada, unlike the US, have to consider a rifle's NR or restricted statuses)
Anyhow, I'm mostly kidding about the Academy Awards thing. Although I'd like an excuse to wear my tuxedo (aka the penguin suit) for more than the one time I did

Unfortunately, I'm not kidding about having to seriously consider NR or R status when choosing a rifle for my needs or future (such as resale).
