The .45 ACP Enfield Thread!

I had the muzzle turned down on mine so an opened up original front site slid on and filed a slot so a modified cross pin holds it on

Still working on mine. Added a stop on the mag adapter. So I can lower the adapter for better cycling, but not rattle as much. All hidden under the stock.

Extraction is fine. It's the ejection that I still don't like.

I figured the front sight height, using the MK 2 rear sight on the 200 setting.

Based on the sight options and the testing. A .450 height front sight post , plus my .225 high base. Will be about an inch low at 25. I'm going with a Fiber optic front. So gotta get the barreled reciever send out and get the Marble base soldered on.

I was getting about 2inch at 25 yards.

Also got a cheap thread protector.

Sent the barrel reciever off couple days ago to the smith and getting the base soldered. So all that is left is order a front sight and swap out a sling mount that rattles so much it's annoying.

Smith called me today and let me know, that the gun is ready and be sent back out this week.

I gotta redo the front sight height test to confirm what I previously noted.

This is the stop I made. Then made another for the rear.

Looking real nice with that front sight in place.
Thanks. I'm not sure why they did not just notch the barrel, so you can run a un modded Lee extractor. Mine will only feed from a mag. The extractor is flat and doesn't jump over the rim.

I have 308 Extractors but won't close due to no clearance for the extractor.

I marked the area around the chamber to grind down and did so. I then put on an un modified 303 extractor and it works great

Just picked this guy up from the UK. Armalon no longer makes them and they were quite expensive, but they are everything one could want in this platform. CHF barrel (many calibers were available), short throw bolt, reduced firing pin travel, completely new trigger mech, and even the rear sight was re-graduated for the pistol cartridge. This carbine uses Tanfoglio Witness 10rd mags.

Sweet. I'm thinking of trying to shorten a MK3 rear sight for some more adjustability and be less bulky.

I think 200, 300, 400 would be enough. As the 300 MK2 sight is slightly low.

Pour boiling water down the bore before just before applying "cold blue"

The heat allows the blue to take effect very quickly and the end results are a much deeper and more even appearance.

Do this every time you apply a new coat. I caution you to allow some time for any droplets, if any, to dry.
