The 760/7600 Club

Here's my entries for the club from last year a nice doe with my 760 carbine in 30.06 and a nice male yote with my model six in .243 shooting 55 grain ballistic silvertips. This thread can't die, I always look at it!

Great pics Redlab, Thanks for sharing with us ! Sure do like the pelt on that Coyote !!

This thread needs a bump, great thread gonna take a day to read it.I bought a 7600 in .270win almost 30 yrs ago give or take a few yrs, have shot countless deer with it.Never had one single problem with it and believe me it has been used.Sorry for reviving an old thread but it just deserves it.

Hey everyone, been looking at this thread for awhile and I like what I see. I like to reload, so how much pressure can the 7600 action handle.....my reloads for my 30-06 bolt action are 180 gr @ 2775fps

Those 760/7600s will handle fairly heavy loads, but common sense will dictate a gradual increase until you find a reliable load that works. Small base dies are not required, but full length resizing will work just fine. Case life can be a bit short using heavier loads with FL resizing.

Thanks SuperCub,,,,,,I've been using a pump shotgun all my life(20 years) and bought a bolt action for moose season for the last 4 years. Worked up a load for it and I used it for deer season for the first time. I tried to pump it after I missed a first shot at the animal,,, bye the time I realized what had happened he was gone,,,,so I am going to take a hard look at 1 of these for next year
THANKS

That is exactly what i love about this gun, after using a pump shot gun for years this rifle is just a natural, follow up shots are very quick.

Fast follow up shots are important but will never make up for bad shooting. You're first shot with any type action is far more important that a fast second or third.

I agree.... I should have used the 45-70 lever that I am more comfortable with, considering I shoot it a lot more then the bolt gun
