another thread, back from the (almost) dead............
the fella in Ontario that originally bought the 2 from Epps sold one of them to myself NIB and I still own it, will be coming to the grave with me no doubt lolAnd they were carbines?? Did you buy them new if so where
Cheers
Bit of history / past conversation on them
The .35 whelen carbine in 7600 with wood stocks was never produced for resale as a normal remington production gun in North Americia.
They were produced by remington in dec 2004 and it part of the famous or not so famous lot 25150 which was a substancial order manufacturered by remington in .35 W wood carbines for overseas, jlock, monte stock???.Could never find out exactly where they were slated for overseas but were in english boxes.
However some how six yes six guns out of this lot got misplaced and never made over seas but showed up almost 2 years later in late 2006 If I recall correctly with two regular remington stock orders in canada. The BS stories about them ordering them special from remington or a group of special ontario dealers got together in canada and placed a small order of these for a show is just that BS from what remington told me at the time.
One showed it's head in the maritimes which is still here well greased and never fired in it's original box the the other 5 showed up at Elwood EPPS.
Two of the five went immediately to one buyer, which has since parted with one I found out, one to another ontario buyer who is a site member here and still has it and the others different members own here also.
Regardless you have two super rare guns there.
I've been wrong before. If I can get $1200 for a 35Whelen Carbine, I'd sell every one I could.![]()
Just seeing this now pal almost 3 years later lolllll. Answer is still nope, sorryBeep...time is up. My turn to own the whelen Carbine.
