You get all the nice toys :) I'm guessing those can't be sent up to Canada because of ITAR?

I just bought another Norc, this one came in an EBR chassis......been building bolt guns and ARs the last few years and my first M14 has just been sitting in the safe, more or less neglected. I think it's time to add a little fuel to that sparc of battle rifle obsession.

I really didn't know much about the M14 platform when I got my first one a few years ago. I had scope mount issues, and was just shooting Norc ammo, didn't get groups better than minute-of-pie-plate at 200m. My friend helped me shim the scope mount and straightened out the scope alignment with the barrel, and I threw in a Sadlak spring guide and Wolfe recoil spring. Also a little bit of practice and better ammo helped tighten up the group a bit so that every round wasn't a flyer. However, I got into bolt guns not long after and I quickly lost interest in my M14 when my Savage 10TR was getting sub MOA groups out of the box with little experience and little effort.

This newest Norc that I just bought apparently has the gas cylinder shimmed and the previous owner replaced all the springs, but that aside, it looks like it needs a lot of work. The rifle didn't come with the front sight post or flash hider, just the castle nut threaded to the end of the barrel (don't remember why he dumped the flash hider/front sight post. He also used a piece of tape to secure the guide rod retaining pin for some reason? I have a feeling it may have something to do with the issues found in this thread:

But I'll have to open it up one of these days to make sure. Will post some pics up after I do a little more research and get the rifle in presentable working order :)

Got a little stupid with the spending lately and the wife's on my case about it.....

That's every wife for you sir.
Both sweet rifles. Wish I could get on some of that. Maybe blackfeather in my future if I can get myself to sell my 10tr

Don't sell the 10TR man, it's such an awesome shooter! I know I'd regret selling my 10TR, she's a keeper....sub MOA out of the box, reaches out to 1km.....no way I'd sell mine.

I just got lucky and got a sweet deal on the EBR chassis. In reality, I couldn't afford it, but just too sweet a deal to pass up so I made it work.

That's my dilemma. She's a great shooter. But I also love my m305. So maybe I'll just beg for one on my bday from the wife lol

If you only had one or the other, you would not be happy. Its unlikely to get the kind of accuracy you can get with the 10TR with the M305, but then again, the M305 can be plinked with at a much higher rate of fire.

I bought the EBR without permission, hence the deep, steaming heap of feces I'm in, today of all holidays, lol!

I saw that. It started at 850 and then to 550. Steal of a deal. I was already tapped out from Xmas shopping.
I have set up that works at the moment. Rome wasn't build in a day
