The BD-44 (StG44/MP44) w/pics...

Sgt STRIKER;
I understand you will be swaging your bullets soon, let me know if you need lead wire, I extrude it here in various diameters..
John

Thanks, I'll give you a call once I know the press and dies are on the way. He said I could use 1/4 inch for these bullets as I'm also using 30 cal copper casings.

That is not for this board and while we are at it just because you have seen thousands makes you in no way an expert. I have handle thousands of of different types of firearms and all we usually do is take the serial number, and the overall condition and then ship. If you were lucky/unlucky enough 1000's of rifle could have been the same month's production. I don't deal MP44s They are one of the few I have actually researched.

Mr. Blackgunlover..

Unless you are Finn Neilson (formerly of the Center Of Forensic Sciences in Toronto) I suggest you reread your posts and think about what you have said.

The likelihood of you being qualified to challenge John St. Amour's expertise regarding firearms is remote.

If you have a beef with John for a previous deal gone sour take it elsewhere.

SEVERAL CALLERS HAVE ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WARRANTY POLICY ON THE BD-38, BD-44 etc....
Its quite simple Marstar is the exclusive importer for the North American market for all firearms manufactured by SSD of Germany.

The factory warranty as well as Marstar's "ironclad warranty" will apply ONLY to firearms imported by Marstar and sold by either Marstar or it's appointed dealers. Gray market imports will NOT be covered by Marstar.

If any doubts or questtions call us....

Incidently, why can't you get 5/30 mags? It seems odd to go to all that trouble to design a faithful replica when you don't have the mags that complete the image.

I assume it's because the guns are from Germany, and you can't sell a military-style gun like this in Germany with converted mags, they can only be ten rounds maximum, so those are probably ten round mags converted to hold five.

Nope!!! If you check some of the other posts, you'll notice that John has said that the 5/30 mags are on the way. Also, if you check the makers web site, they have 30rd mags for sale as well (ohhh I wish I wish I wish some day :ar15: ....) :D

I'm still waiting for someone to do this to their STG:

John,

I'm just concerned about it because the iron sights and the optic don't appear to co-witness, and it looks like it's been modified to 7.62x39....LOL

Still wishing I had the 3K spare to grab one...just so I could drop a strip of picatinney rail on it....

NAVY SHOOTER;
Of course once you get your gun you should shop around for some German WW-11 laser sights, not to mention genuine WW-11 night vision ....
Never mind 7.62x39 the new model is a real "he man" gun it comes chambered for the .50bmg

Who says we don't have something for every taste and need ?
Call me at the office this week....

John

Cool!

Do you have any of the "shoot around the corner" variants with the special tumbling bullets like they used in Vietnam? I heard it was an awesome version for use when varmint hunting and even better for those worried about zombies...

I look forward to the .50 BMG model, will they be offering that in the FG-42 style too? I think the side feed of the -42 will work better than the magazine of the -44.

Any chance you have a spare set of "solution B" panther tank Night vision gear? I'd be really interested in modifying a set to work with the -44. I think it'd rock, except for the need to bring an APC along with an IR searchlight.... (or was that solution A?)

All in good fun John, and honestly, if my visa wasn't sitting at about $1500, and I had the $3K in the bank to use, I'd snap one up in a heartbeat. (Means at this point in the summer, I'm short $4500 from buying one....)

..which makes it kind of mysterious to me why they aren't shipped with the gun. Actually, until this thread, I'd never seen a picture of a 44 without a 30rd mag. No big scandal here, it just seems odd to me. It would be like finding out your new F150 has 18" diameter wheels preinstalled at the factory.

AIWA;
Please read again, we ship the guns WITH a 5/30rds magazine....

A couple of clients received the 5/10rds mag in error, we immediately replaced them....

TOWARDS the end of the war the Germans began issuing the 10rds mag for special applications as well as with the STg-45 and some of the "last ditch" weapons.... These original mags are extremely rare and very collectable....

John

Any new word on mags and parts?

Rumor has it of these being built in the US? any truth to this?

Also will marstar sell 30rd mags to US customers as they are the whole NA rep?

Thanks

also what is the planned release of the FG42?

I know lots of question!

Johnone: My bad. I always empathize with the BS you have to put up from us gun owners. It would be kind of amusing, of couse, unless one had to put up with it every day..

RAGNAR;
Well I always try to answer questions put to us....
1) Mags and spare to be available very soon....
2) The guns sold in Canada are built in Germany.... Those which will be sold in the USA are a different matter, some production will be done by our associated firm down south....
3) Yes the American clients can purchase full size 30rds mags....
4) The Fg-42 is being produced at this time, we hope to have them here by summers end....
Regards John

AIWA;'
We don't mind answering legit questions....
We will even adress issues and concerns our customers may have, after all that's part of dooing business....
But yes, some people are dertermined to hassle us, but fortunately they are in the minority....

I got to handle the BD-44 and BD-38 at Ellwood Epps, they ae a lot nicer that the photo's. I was very impressed by the quality and engineering. They are larger than I imagined, and heavier than expected. I love them both.

Ellwood Epps is getting reloading dies for the BD-44 and there is a source for bullets (projectiles) for reloading. I am sure the other retailers would be able to procure the same.

In my opinion, they are worth it, I always loved the STG-44, and since I cannot own an AK-47 (prohibited) this would surely fit that niche.

For export purposes. Presumably they made the ten-round mags first for domestic consumption. The BD-38 mags are just MP-40 mags that are pinned. So I assume the same is true of 30-round mags for this thing, they aren't new, they're the real deal.
